We were lucky enough to get the free qd and I upgraded it to the deluxe. We have never done a dinner show and are debating between the Spirit of Aloha or the Hoop de Doo... Which one would you do? Its just me and my daughter who is 11 who is not a picky eater at all...

I would pick Hoop-dee-doo. It's very silly and a lot of fun. The luau is nice, too. But I'd pick HDD.

One other thing I like about HDD is that it's indoors and climate controlled. The luau is in an outdoor, covered pavilion so you're subject to heat, rain, wind, etc.

Hoop-Dee-Doo, Hoop-Dee-Doo!!!! It's a family favorite!
We have been to the luau, and while nice, the Hoop-Dee-Doo would be my pick!

I was leaning towards HHD.. so its great to hear such strong recommendations... I have read that the transportation can be ugly.. we will have a car and can drive if need be.. will it be a hassle?

Hi! We are going in September and we are doing both dinner shows. I have never done the Spirit of Aloha so Im excited for that one. This will be our third time doing Hoop De Doo, each time someone different has gone with us and that is one of our "first time" must dos! I would recommend that to everyone!! Good luck with ADRs and have a great vaca!! :wizard:

My family LOVED Hoop De Doo!!! I went to the Luau on my last trip and found it long and boring with meh food and a downright disgusting dessert. I will never go there again.

you should look on youtube to see which one you may like. That will give you an excellent idea of what the show will be before you make reservations.

We didn't find transportation to and from HDDR to be ugly at all. If you plan the show for a day where you'll already be at MK then you just hop on the boat from MK to FW and Pioneer Hall is right near the dock. To return, you take the boat back to MK and walk over to the busses unless you want to go back into MK. The boat is very easy to take. It's part of the experience IMO.

I think if you drive to FW then you'll have to take the FW internal bus system to get to Pioneer Hall which IMO is more trouble than just using the internal transportation.

Thanks for your advice everyone! I did youtube both and had DD watch them.. she went with the HDD because she " love to laugh". I booked it for the 9:30 show on June 24th... We are excited to try something new!
