Hi

We are looing to book a dinner show in August and we looked at Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Spirit of Aloha.

We have 2 children aged 9 and 5

Could anyone please offer any advice/opinion on which to go for?

Thank you!

Lee

I've done both. It's been 22 years since Spirit of Aloha and I did Hoop Dee Doo just last year, for the third time. Your kids should like Hoop better, I think. My family really enjoys Hoop. My 14yo son would go every time if we let him. It's so campy it's great fun. SO that's my vote.

We did the Poly show last time and it was ok - nice night etc. This time (August is sooooo long away) we've booked at Hoop de Doop. I'm looking forward to it!!!

We did Mickeys BBQ in 1993, really enjoyed it but if I remember rightly in a large marquee which was very hot, maybe changed now.

Not done Spirit of Aloha, considered it last August but while there in May went to have a look, didn't like the venue, we like to dine in Aircon and no risk of birds(DW has a phobia) probably woul dbe OK but she did not like the look of it.

Hoop, have it booked for August for 3rd time, last twice we have really enjoyed.

Could anybody comment on the food at both? Do they cater for vegitarians?

We did both a few years ago.
While SOA was good, we all enjoyed HDDR much better ,and would not hesitate going again if i was planning Disney

Just to add an alternative view point - we did Hoop last year and didn't really like it - it was far too slapstick/corny for us. We do seem to be in the minority though as most people seem to love it! The food was only so-so and we felt a bit rushed. The all inclusive beer and wine was a nice treat though!

We won't be going back to Hoop but glad we tried it once. :)

We did SOA 4 years ago when DS was 6.We were sat way at the back, could not see very well.Food was OK.Its mass catering, comes on big trays but plenty of it.After dining at places like Brown derby and Chef Mickey it was very dissapointing.
It has put us off any other dinner show as we think that kind of dining experience is just not for us.:snooty:
