Which dinner show???

We're trying to plan our August ADRs before the 180 day mark hits next month. We're considering one of the dinner shows. Which is better? Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue, or Spirit of Aloha? Which would you reserve? Is it worth doing more than one?

Is the Hoop-dee-doo a buffet or family style?

It is family style. It has been a couple of years since I have been there, but if I remember correctly there is chicken, ribs, corn-on-the-cob and free beer/wine or soft drinks. I can't remember what the dessert was like. Last year we went to the show at the Poly and we really liked that too.

Sorry I haven't been to any of the other dinner shows, but I just booked our reservation for Hoop de doo for our June trip. This will be our third time going to this show and we just love it. IMO it is a must do. The last time we went was Xmas 06 and after the show we did a horse a carriage ride which was nice. Have Fun

The past two times we went we had category 1, if you are on the dining plan you can only get category 2 or 3 (which is 2 of your TS points) if you want Cat 1 you have to pay for it. So this time we are trying Cat 2, and yes it typically is a big sell out. They have 3 shows a night we do the 7:15 one. Category 1 will put down in front, I wouldn't wait too long to make a reservation. have fun!

Thanks so much!! Even though we're doing the ddp, I think we'll pay for the category 1 seating. I want to make sure my 4 year old nephew has a great view!

We loved Hoop Dee Doo. Even my teens, who were groaning about how corny it was going to be, were laughing out loud! The food id ribs and chicken, beans, corn, and something else I cant remember. It is all you can eat. We had a great table, a very funny waitress, and a really good time! We will do it again!

1) We adore HDDR.
. . . it is corny and silly
. . . the food is comfort food
. . . it is a lot of fun, and goes on regardless of weather
2) The luau is OK.
. . . if you have been to a true luau, then Aloha Luau is just so-so
. . . if you have never been to a true luau, then Aloha Luau is entertaining
. . . gets canceled for medium rain, all lightning and cold temps
