The only deluxe we have stayed at was AKL and I found it to be just ok. We like to walk around more and have more outdoor space. This is a couples trip and I am curious which is better for food, pools, atmosphere and view? How crowded do some of the public places get? Can you see the fireworks from all Magic Kingdom resorts? I am looking for truly the magical experience because this will be our last trip for a long time. Just wondered what the pros and cons are. I have looked at some on YouTube and they all look nice but I probably wouldn't stay at the CR.

If you are looking at exclusively monorail resorts and you want a resort that feels less crowded, I would consider GF. It has a bigger lobby than Poly, quieter pools, more restaurants and you can see the fireworks and electric water pageant from the beach and marina areas. There is a also a walking path from GF to Poly, so you can stroll over there as well.

If you would consider the EP area, YC/BC and BWI will give you even more walking options as you will have the entire Boardwalk to stroll on plus you can walk to DHS and EP from all of those resorts. BWI would, typically, have a less crowded pool.

I'd say go for the GF, it's the flagship resort and has the best restaurant at WDW.

Poly, because of transportation and theming.

The ability to take the monorail to the MK or to walk to the TTC for hopping on the Epcot monorail within minutes is something you should consider. When the MK monorail is down you can take the boat to MK and back.

The lush theming and the scenic views from the resort of the lake with the castle in the background is very serene, especially when it is getting darker. The caslte is lit up, around the resort there are fire torches at night.

I only stayed in a studio there. Despite the lack of storage space the room was huge, clean and well themed. With two showers there is less trouble getting ready. When booking a studio at the Poly there is no need to worry about a balcony. All studios there have balconies or a patio for 1st floor rooms. Poly regular rooms do not have a balcony on the 2nd floor, but you can open the sliding door and lean against a solid railing.

Yes, you can see MK fireworks from GF and Poly. I enjoy both but GF a bit more. And their public spaces are less crowded it seems. Both resorts have beautiful grounds and nice walking paths. Including a path between them. It’s a very pleasant 15 min walk between resorts so you can have the best of both worlds.
GF & Poly both have popular restaurants in the resorts but Poly is concentrated in Lobby, so the lobby gets really crowded at night.
I think there may be spots at WL where you can see fireworks since they built the cabins along the lake and cut down a lot of trees. I haven’t stayed there since they did this but will be in Aug. I’m hoping for a fireworks view from room.

If you like to walk and have more outdoor space I think you'll like the Epcot resorts. Lots to walk around and do including walking to Epcot and DHS. I prefer the Epcot resorts over the MK resorts. We did a Poly/BC split and we all loved the BC much more than the Poly.

I actually like the Boardwalk for couples. Lots around, walkable to two parks and smaller overall. Great dining in a small vicinity, especially if you like World Showcase.

GF is less crowded feeling for sure.

The Poly is our favorite Monorail resort. There are plenty of public spaces to watch HEA, our favorite is from the beach or the pool. For us the Poly has the best theming, grounds, lighting and huge rooms. We love the decor, it really gives the very special Disney vibe. Takes you out of Florida and into Hawaii. The location of the Poly is great because you can walk to the TTC to catch the EPCOT bus. It saves a lot of time.

The great thing about staying on a monorail resort is that you can easily hop to another resort for more food, drink and entertainment options.
