Which deluxe resort?

We will be able to split our stay between an offsite hotel (probably Holiday Inn Family Suites) and a few days at a deluxe resort. There will be five of us in one room. It will be my DH (6'2" but okay in a queen bed as well as king). myself, our DDs (age 3 and 6) and my adult brother (not very tall). I was thinking of a deluxe savannah view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but am open for other suggestions (maybe contemporary). My kids love Magic Kingdom, but have just as much fun at the rest of the parks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe they only have either 1 queen plus bunkbeds or 2 queens, which definitely doesn't seem like enough bedding for 5 people. If you all needed to stay in one room, I think Poly or CR (these have the largest rooms) or one of the Epcot resorts (BWI, BC or YC) would be better because these all have a daybed in addition to 2 queen beds.

Have a great trip,
Sarah

I would stay in a resort that has a daybed. I think AKL only has 2 beds or 1 bed and bunk beds.

Contemporary, Yacht Club and Beach Club have those. I have stayed at 3 and LOVE YC. If you are planning on spending lots of time at MK, then choose a MK resort.

We spend a lot of time at Epcot, so we like the Epcot resorts.

We really love the Contemporary. The deluxe resorts we've stayed at are the Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary. I think the rooms at the CR are bigger than the other resorts and if you may be spending alot of the Magic Kingdom this would be your best choice because the location is unbeatable. The walk from the Contemporary to MK is short and pleasant. It's nice having the option to walk instead of waiting for the monorail or dealing with crowds after parades and fireworks. The CR has a great arcade and a very fun atmosphere. The view from the tower is unbelievable!

Don't forget about POLY. They also have large daybeds and some of the largest rooms I have seen. I have stayed in two different room layout in AKL and have not seen a daybed but I could be wrong. Check the different room layouts.

I personally would do a Magic Kingdom Resort with Monorail access. I also would make sure everyone is there for early entry prior to opening. Take that midday nap or pool dip. Go back and enjoy the late evening hours.

We did April very successfully. But I was a bit like a drill seargeant. I also hate crowds and lines and managed to have fun at Spring break season with this strategy. Also, get to the waterpark pre opening too. They fill up and close quickly that time of year.

It can be done, it can be great.

But that is my advice on a resort. If you are biggest on Epcot then Yacht and Beach. But those monorails are a big advantage for MK.

We'll be staying at AKL in March and also have 5 people in our party...4 adults and one 3 year old...we have a deluxe Savannah view on the Concierge level which has 1 queen, bunks and a daybed...plenty of room for a party of 5.

We had a deluxe Savannah View room that slept 5. It had One Queen Bed. A Bunk bed and a nice daybed. It was all adults and I (6'2" and 220 lbs) slept in the top bunk fairly comfortably. The kids would probably love the AKL and the pool is nice though the slide is weak.
The Yacht and Beach Club have Stormalong bay which is an awesome pool for kids and is easy transport to Epcot and Disney MGM.
The Polynesian and Grand Floridian have large rooms with the daybed and easy access to the Magic Kingdom. Both have fun pools.

I really liked the Poly, but you really can't go wrong!
