Hi
I'm looking to book a deluxe for 1 night, 2 adult and 2 kids.
Just wondered which was the best and why?

Thanks

Deluxe wise, I have only stayed at the Contemporary, and that was nice. But I've also been in the lobby areas of the Poly, Beach Club, and the Grand Floridian. And they seemed pretty sweet, especially the GF. I would want to stay at one of the Monorail resorts. Gotta love the ease of getting to the Magic Kingdom.

I would say it depends on the park you want to visit. If it's MK, then I would say one of the monorail resorts-all are nice and you can't make a wrong choice.

If you want to go to Epcot or DHS, I would say the Boardwalk or Beach Club. Both are great and real close to both parks with many dining options.

Then if you want AK, then the AKL with savannah view!

Non by the time you get there its time to leave again. If you want to stay somewhere it is best to save up for a few days there.

If only ONE night, I'd say Contemporary because you can walk to the Magic Kingdom.

one night,,, I have to say go for the gold and stay at the Grand! For the MK parks. If you like the Epcot area, then the Beach Club!

We absolutely love the Polynesian and Yacht/Beach Club. It all really depends on your style and tastes. The GF was too "snooty" for us, but if it's for one night, I don't think it will matter.

Have a wonderful time! :)

I do have to agree here. When we went this summer, we did a some resort hopping, and we started with a night at All Star Music, a week at Shades of Green, and finished with a night at POP, and it was such a pain to deal with the extra moving.

Hi
I should have said, we're in Orlando for 20 nights,3 at Nick Hotel,2 at Hard Rock Hotel and 14 nights at AKL(I've left one night spare).
I have paid a deposit for £200 with the UK walt disney travel company which they won't refund and it has to be used for accomodation in 2010.
We won't be going at any other time during 2010 and I don't really want to lose it, so the only thing I can think of is have a deluxe and pay the difference.

Thanks

I'd just add on another night at AKL. No sense packing up a fourth time and re-locating if you don't have to. One night isn't enough time to really experience one of Disney's fabulous deluxe resorts, so I'd just go with the convenience of staying an extra night at AKL. Nothing wrong with an extra care-free day!

I went to WDW when my daughter's choir was performing for music days. Could only get POR for 3 of the 4 nights I needed so I took the extra night at WL. Loved it! Was great to sample the deluxe without paying the MUCH higher price for the whole trip. Now I know that I would stay there again if the opportunity arose but I also know I might sample another (Polynesian?) if the same situation came up again...

Hmmmm, lots of options there. I might consider splitting up that 14 nights at AKL and go with 8 nights there and then 7 nights at either a monorail resort or an Epcot resort. However, if you really want the 14 nights at AKL and then 1 night at a different deluxe, I'd personally pick either YC or BC and spend the day enjoying the pool and boardwalk. If you have a park day left on your tickets, then you can walk right to Epcot at night and take advantage of how easy it is to go from your resort to the park.

The answer is pretty wide open.

AKL is one of my favorites, but since you are already staying there...

You could do a single night at AKL as an idividual ressie. Then you'd only have to go down to the front desk most likely that monring and take care of check out and check-in - and probably keep the same room.

Otherwise, youcould do like we did, and use the one night as a non -park chance to really take advantage of the resort's offerings. I'd pick a resort with amenties you really enjoy.

The Boardwalk resort area is really nice. You could also do BC or YC in the same area and enjoy the large pool complex. The walking distance to the Boardwalk is very doable.

You could do one of the monrail resorts and enjoy the dinign in that area. All of these have nice pools too.

You could do Saratoga Springs and have the boat shuttle to DTD. Make it a Downtown Disney day. The pool at SSR isn't huge, but it is also kind of cute.
For that matter, it might be fun to try AKL Kidani one night - just to compare the rooms in the new section.

Another idea we tried last year - if you are doing a one night stay and will be staying mostly at teh resort that day is to stay club level. At the Poly, you can see wishes from the club lounge. At all club level rooms, you can get beverages from the lounge all day, and a continental breakfast. After 14days of lines, you may well appreciate a walk up lounge.

We are doing this for our trip this year. We decided to stay 1 night at the Poly. We will be in the MK on the 11th for the MNSSHP and we wanted to be able to just hop on the monorail and got to the resort. We picked the poly because of the atmosphere and the resturants that are on site.
