We will be staying at WDW the week of 7/18 and wanted to visit US &/or IA. Which day of the week is best to visit? Is evening a good time or morning? Should we try to do both in one day or is that too much(4 of us ages 13 thru 50)

Thanks for all replies

Since none of the Universal experts have answered this, I will give you the info from "The Unoffical Guide to Walt Disney World 2004". According to this book, Tuesday, Monday, Thursday, and Wednesday (in that order) are the best days to visit Universal Studios. It doesn't say anything separate about IOA, so I'm not sure if the same days are supposed to apply or not. I found all the info about best days and touring plans from an earlier edition of this book was very helpful on my last two trips to Disney World (including one day at Universal). Hope this helps!

I believe Sundays aren't that bad.

Go mornings, start with park opening, that is the single best time to visit either park.

No offense to Bob Sehlinger and his excellent crew, but after covering theme parks for a decade, I've come to the conclusion that trying to pick the "best day" is not worth the hassle.

Coming in January (as opposed to Christmas week) will definitely make a difference in crowd levels. But coming Tuesday as opposed to Thursday?

I'm sure that somewhere in the inner sanctums of Universal they have data that show which days, on average, have the fewest visitors. But even if we could get access to that data, the problem with averages is just that -- they are averages. They don't tell you diddly squat about what will happen the day you are there.

All sorts of things can affect park attendance. I remember one day I was there when a major car company was hosting thousands of people who had entered some sweepstakes. Park attendance that day was artificially high.

So going to Universal is like going fishing. The best time to go is when you can. Get there early and follow a good plan and you can see most if not all of the parks.

As KellyMonaghan states, there could be some type of contest event going on at US or IOA, but aren't those usually noted on their website? Barring special events and holidays, there must be some type of way to determine the best time to go for lowest attendance. I know, through research, that alot of the schools go back in session during the last 2 weeks in August for the South and Midwest at least. So it may be less crowded the last week in August into the first week of Sept. The Northeast (MA anyway) schools are starting Sept. 8 & 9. NH, end of August. I know it's hot then, but that's ok for me. I am guessing that mid week would be less crowded due to the fact that some people may just take long weekends that can drive there. I'm thinking of going on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and hope for the best since I won't be staying on site and using FOTL. I'll post a report when I get back.

Gotta agree no such thing as the best day weekends are always busy at all the parks getting there in morning always helps avoid the Qs:jester:

If you had any day to visit the Studios park, I'd have to agree with Slacking, Sundays were always great for me. Usually the Sunday mornings at the park are so incredibly laid back, you hardly see any other guests until after 11am.

Don't take my word for it tho. As Kelly and other posters said, just about anything could happen at the park any given day.
