Which Day MK and Which Day The Studios

We'll be going to DW Aug 13th to the 22nd and I'm trying to decide which day for each park. Originally I planned to do the studios on Thurs the 14th and MK on the Sat 16th with a Typoon Lagoon day on the 15th. Now I'm thinking MK will be crazy on Sat so I am thinking to do MK on Thurs and DS on Sat still doing TL on Fri. What do you all think? Any comments would be appreciated. It would be myself, DW, DD-12, 2DS 9 and 8. Thanks HarryO

JMO, but I would never do MK on a Saturday again, if it could be avoided! We made that mistake once, and hopfully never again. The only way I would do MK on a Saturday is to see Spectro Magic. And even then I wouldn't go until it was time to stake out a spot to watch it!

NO MK on SATURDAY!!!!! Even off season!

I'll be considering this dilemma for the next 6 months until our trip! We go the beginning of February, and being off-season, Spectro and probably FITS will only be offered on Saturday (if at all). I hate to miss them.

That being said, you may want to try www.touringplans.com -- there's an interactive thingy where you check which park(s) and what season. It will tell you --theoretically-- the best days to go.

Definitely avoid MK on Saturday. Thursday is Early Entry at MK, which is great if your family can get there at 8 a.m. and you're staying on site. If not, avoid the park on Thursday--maybe go to MK on Friday, if possible. I think Friday would be a good day to go to MK since it is the day after Early Entry. We liked going to the parks the day after they had Early Entry. The crowds seemed to be manageable. I also think Saturday is MGM's Early Entry day.

If you do Early Entry, you might want to leave by 11 a.m., especially at MK. Even if you don't do Early Entry, try to get to the parks right at opening. It helps with the crowds and the heat.
