Hi,
First time poster, this is a wonderful & useful site. We will be at Disneyland (with our 2 & 5 year old kids) on Friday Oct 14th and are looking to add a second day on either Saturday the 15th or Thursday the 13th. We usually have to leave the park mid afternoon for the 2 year old to nap.

My wife thinks that we should go on Saturday because the earlier opening time (8 AM) will allow us more time in the park before the nap. I think we should go on Thursday since I expect that the smaller crowds & shorter lines will make up for the later opening time (10:00 AM) and provide a more enjoyable experience.

Any advice on which would be the best day to go?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

I think the hours were just updated for October...the park will be opening at 9am on the 13th (if that makes any difference!)

Personally, I would prefer the less crowded day (Thursday). I don' t like crowds and lines if I can help it.

And I think that Thursday is one of the Early Entry days if you have one of the tickets that allows it...

I vote Thursday regardless of the napper. Can they nap in the stroller? Saturdays are the busiest day of the week.

You will probably get more done in less time even with a later opening. And/but the hours DID just get updated, the park is opening an hour earlier WOO HOO. EE would then be at 8 a.m. can you believe it? That would make a full day for you guys before naptime and comparable timewise to Saturday without the crowd!!

Saturday is the worst day to go!

I would go on Thursday becuase I hate crowds and waiting in line to ride the rides.

Thursday will close earlier but lines will be much shorter and crowds lighter....and now with the extra added hour in the a.m., I'd go for Thursday if closing early doesn't bother you!

My advice, go thursday and make sure both days you are there you get at the park 1/2 hour before it opens. decide before hand what the first four rides will be and when the rope drops go. We did this last year and we able to do a lot of the kid stuff within the first hour that would have taken several hours later in the day. One other hint, since CA opens later in the am, be there when they open and also go to the kids area first, you will save a lot of time. We would then go back to the room and rest mid day and then go back for a few hours. Have a great trip.

Thursday, we never go on the weekends. Our trips are always Monday and leave middle of Friday. The weekends are just to crowded for my 2.5 year old. Not enough patience for lines :earsboy:

I would go on Thursday. You will accomplish alot more - even with the shorter hours. Saturdays are impossible. I would never do a Saturday again.
