We will be in Southern CA 7/22 - 8/1. I'm planning a visit to CA Adventure for 1 day just to see Cars Land. Is there any day of the week that is better than others to go?

Wednesday is the best day of the week. Tuesday and Thursday are good alternatives. Everyday will be busy but these days are going to be a little better.

All of the reports I've been reading are indicating Saturdays are now the lightest days, mostly because all APs except premium are blocked. Don't know if that will continue to hold true through the summer, but it's definitely something to keep in mind.

That has only been true the last couple weeks because the APs were blocked and had to go other days to see Cars Land. The other 50 weeks of the year are different.

Saturdays are the lightest day during summer or any busy holiday period, no questions asked. This isn't a new thing. It has been this way for many years. The exception is obviously when going an actual holiday weekend (Christmas weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, etc.) in which case blackouts are irrelevant.

RSR peaked at only two hours last Saturday and was often 80 minutes throughout the day. Space Mountain didn't even reach an hour last Saturday. Saturday's during the summer are extremely pleasant - more crowded than an off season weekday, but since attractions are operating at peak season capacity, there is extra entertainment nd no attractions are closed, the crowds are better absorbed.

You are wrong.

Disneylandsays this.
In general, if you want to visit when the number of Guests is sometimes lower, plan to stay mid-week — Tuesdays to Thursday.

You can find this same information all over the web.

Why? Because most people have the weekend off and that is when they do leisure activities like go to theme parks including Disneyland Resort.

I could care less what Disneyland says. I'm at the parks all the time. Saturday's are the emptiest days between June and August, no questions asked. End of story.

Two-third of Disneyland visitors are annual pass holders. Only one-third of annual pass holders are Premium. Saturdays during summer blocks out such a huge amount of it's visitor base, and tourists simply don't make up for it.

Wednesday morning 6/27 there was a three and a half hour wait and the fast passes were gone by 10am. We might totally skip Cars Land this trip. I,laughed that our submarine line wait was only 35mins, they mustve all been in the Cars Land line. :-)

I've been following wait times over the past couple of weeks using the Otto line and based on that I believe DCA may have come close to setting another attendance record yesterday. RSR had 3 hr waits well into the evening, and even TOT was reporting 2 hr waits at times.

I think it also depends on how much Radiator Springs Racers breaks down, too. A day when RSR is running with few breakdowns could feasibly have shorter waits for that major ride than a somewhat busier day where it doesn't even open until after regular park opening and has a couple more extended breakdowns.

This summer is also kind of new territory because SO MANY people from California, the rest of the US, and even the world, will be interested in this major new offering. The last time Disney opened an entirely new land (not park) was Toontown, I believe, in the 1990s, and this is so much more than that.

Anyway, I think we can all agree on "not Sunday". Fewer blockouts+weekend day=bigger crowds. :)
