Which dates would you choose and why?

I will be in Anaheim for my annual work trip in late January, and this year it appears I can once again visit Disneyland and California Adventure solo for a couple days.

On previous trips, I’ve added one to three days to the end of my trip, typically Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday depending on number of days, but this year the dates of travel have shifted and I can now either add two days to the beginning of the trip and visit the parks on 1/19-1/20 (Sunday and Monday) or I can add two days to the end and visit the parks on 1/26-1/27 (also Sunday and Monday).

It may not matter much, but does anyone have any insights or recommendations on why one or the other would be better? Attraction closings/openings, renovations, shows or after-hours party schedules, etc.? It’s sort of a toss up for me, as I would have much more energy for the parks before my work trip, which is exhausting, while I’d be able to mentally relax and enjoy my time more going after the work portion.

Regardless of which I choose, I can’t wait since these couple solo days are basically the only real break I get each year, as I’m otherwise extremely busy with work/commute/travel/kids/etc.

Personally I think 1/19-1/20 might be more crowded throughout the day since it is both a holiday weekend and the start of the Lunar New Year celebration at Disney.

My experience this past month has been that Saturdays are less crowded than Mondays. Tracking live crowds on a website seems to back this up. While it’s true that the Lunar New Year Celebration at DCA might increase crowds, I would have expected last Saturday 12/7 to be packed because of Holiday Time, and it was far less packed than Monday 11/18 was — it was genuinely pleasant the whole time we were there. Saturday 11/23 was also less packed than Monday 11/18.

In January I’ve chosen 1/4 (Saturday), 1/13 (Monday — kid can’t go on weekend days because of work), and 1/25 (Saturday).

I would do the 26/27 over the holiday weekend crowds. Have a great time.
