Which cutting machine?? Sizzix or Cricut??

Actually it started a couple years ago when I did a scrapbook of a trip that I took to Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand. I asked him for his advice on a couple of pages and he went with me to scrapbook stores to get supplies. He is in the process of finishing our honeymoon album that he is doing all by himself. As a gift for a former co-worker whose son was in Afganistan, he contacted his coworkers wife and asked for pictures of their son and did a full album of him for his coworker for Christmas. His coworker said that the only other time he ever cried was when his mother died and when he received the album from my DH.

We have a 6 ft table set up in our basement and a couple of shelves for supplies and he is constantly thinking of how to expand our space.

We go to weekend crops together and leave the kids with g-mom or friends. He is almost always the only guy there, and the ladies love it. He is quite the entertainer. AND WE GET THE WHOLE TABLE TO OURSELVES TO SPREAD OUT.

   I wish my DH would scrap with me, he's a drive by scrapper. If I'm working on something or I'm stumped he'll pass by and rearrange things for me. He did do 1 page in my CJ but I haven't gotten that book back yet so I'll have to post pics when I get it back.

I love my Cricut and so does my DBF - so much he used it to make me a scrapbook for our 2 year anniversary. Yes, he's a keeper

For those who have an opinion, would you rather have a Cricut as opposed to the other automated die cut machines out that are computer compatible? I have come to the decision that I want an automated one but I can't decide if I want the new Cricut or one of the other ones that you can use your computer fonts with. Love to hear from others that have an opinion! Thanks!

I have both a cricut and a wishblade. There are pros and cons to both. It really depends on what you are looking to do and how much money you are willing to spend. The cricut is fairly easy to operate and is portable, however you have to keep buying carts for it and you are limited to what's on the cart. With a machine such as a wishblade, those limitations are pretty much eliminated. It does have a BIG learning curve, though. Most of the machines now come with software that allows you to make basic shapes and weld words fairly easy. The drawing tools are a bit harder to learn to use and it can be a bit frustrating. Yes, they are a bit of an investment up front, but you don't have to keep buying carts to get what you want. These types of machines are not portable unless you have a laptop. I would suggest if you are even considering a machine such as the wishblade, sign up for one of the yahoo wishblade groups to get an idea on how to operate it. Most have tutorials listed that are helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions. There is also a really good comparision chart for the different machines at paperthreads.com- check it out. Some of the machines do more than others. If you do decide to order a wishblade (or any type like it), again, sign up for one of the yahoo groups and read, read, read.

Good luck with your decision!:)
