Which cruise with toddlers

I want to do a cruise next year and my kids with be almost 2 and 4. I originally wanted to do the Caribbean and a week in Disney World but we are in California so that is expensive airfare. I was considering Alaska and there are also a couple sailing dates on the Wonder to Mexico. I was wondering which locations are more child friendly with a few excursions we could do with kids.

at those ages, I liked simple, non-excursion things that we could just walk off the ship and do. In Alaska, that might be taking a bus to a park to walk around and look at Totem Poles, or walking along the shore, picking up rocks, or a simple nature walk.

We are doing the Disney Alaska Cruise on the Wonder at the end of May (May 29, 2017) and we will have a 2.5 yr old and a 4 year old. We are just going to wing it! I have a found a couple of excursions in each port that are good for their ages Message me if you end up booking that one

Do you prefer snow-capped mountains and pine trees, or the sun and sand at the beach? We've been to both Alaska and Mexico, and I don't think one is more child friendly than the other. You could check out the DCL web site where they list the different shore excursions available for each port, and the age restrictions for each, and decide which cruise appeals the most. With kids 2 and 4 yrs old, they'll be more excited about the Disney characters and the ship than most of the excursions anyway. If there's an excursion you really really want to do that won't allow your 2-yr-old to participate, you can often book privately with one of the local vendors. Alaska is especially good about that. There's lots of vendors right at the dock who will be happy to sign you up the same day you're in port.
