Which conspiracy theories do you believe?

I don't believe any conspiracy theories. They are fun to read about- I've invested a lot of time in reading the "clues" that show how Paul of the Beatles was dead and replaced by an imposter- but at the end of the day, I don't believe them.

"I remember that night well, it was Saturday Night, I was glued to cable TV hoping she would live, the reports were all over the place. Also remember is was middle of the night in Brittan and most of them didnt know, when they woke up next day the played some type of music in the streets to let you know something bad has happen to the royal family, and they interviewed people who when heard the music they all thought the QUEEN HAD DIED"

No nope this did not happen there was no music played - weird where did you get this idea from!

The Sandy Hook hoaxers are the worst. I think someone has to be despicably cruel to say such things to the parents.

I agree. It's just cruel. It's also dangerous. Someone was arrested for threatening a sandy hook parent. Recently a woman who's stepmother was murdered at Sandy Hook was laughed at while speaking at a concealed carry permit hearing in NH.
It's sickening.

I believe that our country is going to heck in a handbasket because people would rather believe ridiculous stories instead of actual facts and science.

Our country is pretty resilient. We will get through this chapter in our history and continue to flourish.
The economy is booming in Seattle and so many are moving in it is causing problems. A slow down around here would help us catch up.

Yeah that doesn't really make sense. I don't think the streets of the UK are lined with speakers.

My father has been researching the assassination of JFK for many, many years. He was in a documentary called The Men Who Killed Kennedy and has been cited in at least 20+ books over the years. He goes annually and presents at the assassination conference in Texas and has done lectures at colleges and schools. Oswald definately did not act alone. There's too much contrary evidence to the single bullet theory.

I do think to say conspiracies can't be true bc you believe in science or data is tricky. At one time science and data said the world was flat. That's an extreme example, but science and data have a way of changing with the emergence of other information.

@wenrob I used to want to believe Jim Morrison was still alive too when I was a teenager!

The Sandy Hook ones seem ridiculous. I can't even think of Sandy Hook without a lump in my throat. I can't see what would've been gained by that being a hoax either. At least other conspiracies, there were ppl who had something to gain by perpetrating the event, hiding the truth, etc.

Agree that I don't think that that happened. However, I was curious and did some searching. I did find something referred to as the "Obit Procedure" which describes radio stations playing pre-selected music (seems to be classical and/or sombre mainly) if a member of the Royal family dies. From what I read, Diana wasn't on the "Obit List" (I'm not sure that said list is really official), but most radio stations played "Obit Procedure" music. Perhaps the PP has somehow turned this into the story of music playing in the streets?

The only one I think may be partially true is the JFK assassination. Maybe there was more too it.
I think the Marilyn Munroe one is silly myself. Really what kind of information did she really have. I doubt when JFK and Marilyn were alone they were talking state secrets. He was probably not that interested in her mind. Since JFK slept around so much why didn't they silence all the other girls too?

Were any of his other of other affairs so public? IF they were did I guess I missed them. Lets face it the Kennedy weren't above killing anyone who got in there way.

The ones that have always driven me nuts are the ones where technologies are created that would solve all the world's energy problems, and big oil buys up the technology only to kill it so they can continue to drill for oil instead. If such technology actually existed, it would be WAY more profitable than oil. So, the theory doesn't even make sense.

I can't believe that there are people who actually think Sandy Hook was a hoax with paid actors. I used to work with a guy who was a conspiracy theorist who thought the government was tracking us using our driver's licenses as one example. Dang, it takes all types to make the world go round I guess. But what a slap in the face to the people affected by tragedies like Sandy Hook.

I totally agree!! As someone who has personally held events for the parents of those who lost their children at my business, I find ANY Sandy Hook conspiracy theories awful. It was emotional just as a participant to make it through those events, to greet the families, to hand out the programs with the child's face on them...my SIL was pregnant with my niece and teaching pre-K special needs 15miles from Sandy Hook that day...not a "theory" to me at all. Truth is stranger than fiction, many conspiracies I totally subscribe to and have roots, but many are bred from fear, ignorance, schadenfreude, and a generally inability to accept that sometimes in life the seemingly impossible & horrific thing just happens.

The coworker of mine who believed that we are all tracked with chips in our driver's licenses also believed this one. We rode to some event together one day and he was just going on and on about all of these conspiracies - apparently there was some conspiracy website he followed that posted all kinds of stuff like this. :sad2:

To clarify, the Sandy Hook theories are in 2 completely different camps. There's the camp that says it didn't happen, and there's the camp that believes there's more to it than we're told. While I don't subscribe to either theory, one can see how the latter caught fire. First, there was a TON of misinformation that went out the day of the event. Multiple shooters spotted, shooter misidentified as his brother, etc, etc. Add that to the fact the number of wounded was very much out of proportion with such acts & one can see how the theories came to be.
