if you could pick either resort to stay at, and were going to be staying Concierge at either one, which would you choose, and the important part, is why would you pick that one and what benefits does it offer over the other?

They aren't calling it "concierge" anymore. The name was changed to "Club Level" to more accurately reflect the type of service offered.

I voted GF for a few different reasons...not the least of which is that you can stay in the main building. :rotfl: BUT, I gave up on "concierge" a couple years ago, so my vote isn't for recent service. :)

I chose the GF!

My family has been lucky enough to stay club level at both the Poly GV('03) and RPC ('06).

Keep in mind that our Poly stay was before the flat screen TV's and new bedding.

location:
Hawaii building was very close to both pools and GCH
RPC very close to both pools and in the main building so no outside in the rain trips to shop, get to monorail
Our winner: GF

rooms:
Poly we had 2nd floor no balcony, over service area looking almost directly into the building across from ours. Looking back, we had the worst room in Hawaii. Dark to due to shady nature of room location.
GF we were lucky and our RPC room had a wonderful view of my castle but I don't think there is a bad view from club at GF even though a castle view is by request. Furnishings are lighter and brighter, grounds not as shady therefore brighter
Our winner: GF

Food:
Poly had very good food, DH loved the sushi night (not sure if this is still happening) we all loved the special bread in the morning, pineapple I think, we enjoyed the variety each day. I did not request any recipes.
GF also had a nice variety of food each day and we loved the afternoon tea service. We enjoyed the more upscale nature of the offerings at the GF and the champagne served with the early evening treats. I did request several recipes.
Our winner: GF

Lounge:
The poly lounge in though a door into a room which adds to its crowded feeling at times. There is an upstairs area but it did not feel spacious. You can access the lounge from all three levels of the building, up the stairs from the check in area, down the hall on floor 2 or into the upstairs area from floor three and then down some stairs to the food. The serving line was set back against the back wall of the lounge and could be congested at busy times and the arrangement did cause people to line up. Cartoons on the big screen TV seemed to dominate. The view - my castle!
RPC lounge is is open to the main lobby so it has a very spacious feel to it as it is not a room but a common area on the 4th floor. You can hear the music while you relax in the evenings. The lounge never felt crowded and we were always able to find a seat. Access was by elevator or stairs from the 3rd which opened near the food area. The arrangement of the food and the serving area really sort of discourages the line up mentality. There were two TVs and you could sit away from the kids watching cartoons if you wanted. The view - GF grounds.
Our winner: GF

OUr three sons enjoyed both resorts and didn't feel that the GF was stuffy or girlie. They liked the courtyard pool at the GF the best of all the pools and we enjoyed the pool bar being right there too! We also enjoyed having a hot tub at the GF.

Good luck with your choice - what a fun one to make!

I think it would depend on what you are comparing? You have a GVC room that would be the cheapest to a RPC that would be the most expensive.

I have stayed in a GVC, LVC, & SL . To me all three are different, but I like them all for what they offer. You're also comparing resorts. I guess I'm really no help, but maybe if you give a little more info on what your looking for I could chime in.

We picked a LVC for our upcoming trip. Next time it will be over at the GF. Two of my kids prefer the PR, one is indifferent. My dh and I think it's a toss up. We love both resorts:cloud9:

I didn't vote because I don't think one is better than the other...just different.

BTW, there are two club level buildings at the GF...the main building and Sugar Loaf. Royal Palm Club in the main building is more expensive.

Anyway, we've stayed in RPC once, SL 3 times, GV Hawaii 3 times I think and LV Hawaii 4 or 5 times. Lagoon view in Hawaii is an absolutely stunning view. The lounge also enjoys that view. Neither lounge at the GF has that view. No view at all in SL and just the grounds in RPC although listening to the music drift up from the lobby is very pleasant indeed.

At the GF some RPC rooms look toward the marina with the castle beyond,,,the view Garada enjoyed. But other rooms look toward the courtyard which is what we had. It's pretty but I prefer the garden view rooms in Hawaii to that with the exception of the room Garada had there.;) In Sugar Loaf, the view is either of the courtyard or the marina. We've had marina each time and I do love that view but it's nothing like the view from lagoon view rooms in Hawaii.

I like both rooms although we haven't been in the newly redecorated rooms at the GF...they do look pretty. I actually prefer having the sink in the bathroom which is the setup at the Polynesian....more sanitary. I like the towel hampers at the GF.

Breakfast at both is continental and very similar. I much prefer the evening appetizers at the Polynesian but the afternoon tea at the GF has really wonderful scones. I like that the GF offers champagne.

We've had great interaction with CMs at both.

Both are wonderful experiences. I really don't think you can go wrong.:goodvibes

I don't really think the concierge is worth the money, but if I had to choose, it would be the Poly, all the way.

Have a great trip!

I wanted to say that my brother drives the monorail at WDW and he LOVES the blue one! What a coincidence!
