Which characters are at the Cape May Cafe breakfast and what do they serve? Also, what are your opinions on this breakfast? Is the food good? Is the charcter interaction good?

You can find the menu on allears.net

I know Minnie, Donald and Goofy are there, but I don't know about any others. We will also be having breakfast there :)

Minnie, Goofy and Donald are there in their swim gear and are very friendly...they seem to make their rounds very efficiently which is nice, so you don't have to rush to get a plate or wait forever.

The buffet seemed small, especially compared to Crystal Palace, but well stocked w/the usual items of a nice quality...including mickey waffles and nice fruit.

It is a smaller buffet than some of the other ones, but generally you have:

1. Fruit bar, assorted cut/sliced fruits; oatmeal with toppings; buttered grits
2. Breakfast pizza, waffles, asparagus, sausage, bacon
3. Scrambled eggs, premade omelettes, french toast casserole
4. Various muffins, cinnamon rolls, pastries

Separately up front:
1. Various breads and a toaster; bagels, cream cheese, lox/smoked salmon
2. Cold cereal dispensers (fruit loops, raisin bran, cheerios)

The character interaction is very good and very casual. This is our favorite character breakfast so far.

Also make-your-own yogurt bar (plain or strawberry yogurt with fruit, granola, etc.), and bread pudding with vanilla sauce.

It fairly small (although I think part of it is that the buffet is so compact, arranged in a square that you walk around rather than in a line) but all very good.

We're doing this breakfast for the first time in May so we're very excited to try it!!

We had the buffet at Cape May Cafe a few times. Mickey, Goofy, Minnie and Donald were there. It was delicious. Enjoy!

Thanks for th info! It sounds fun and yummy! This may be good and convenient for us because we are thinking about staying at the Beach Club! :)

My friend stayed at the BC and did this breakfast about 3 times. She harasses me endlessly about how I HAVE to go there it is soooooooo good. She's a bit picky and so is her DH so I know it has to be good!

This is one of our favorite character breakfasts and is a must do each time we go. The food is hot and fresh and the character interaction is out of this world. We are surprising my DDs with a breakfast here in March (celebrating both of their b-days) and they are very upset with DH and I because they think we are not eating there, but rather trying somewhere else. I can't wait to see their faces as we walk into BC and head towards the restaurant :goodvibes. To the OP, you will have a wonderful time here....enjoy!

To the poster who said it's a "smaller buffet" you're way off base. Cape May is one of the largest buffets at WDW. It is much larger then even Chef Mickey's. My family really enjoyed Cape May. The buffet was huge and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is much quieter and more relaxed then most character meals and the characters came by about 3 times each.

We find the Cape May breakfast buffet to be quite small and limited, very similar to Chef Mickey's as a matter fact. The Cape May dinner buffet does have more food items than Chef Mickey's dinner, for sure.

We have eaten the breakfast buffet at Cape Mae several times. I have never thought of it as being small. It is one of our favorites and is always very fresh. We have never felt rushed during this meal. The characters take time to interact with the children and even the adults. I have some pretty funny pics with Minnie and my husband. You will enjoy this meal.

I agree with this. It's been our favorite character meal (we liked it better than CP). When we went, it wasn't crowded and the characters made a fuss over my daughter. She ate it up.

Here's the menu from allears:

Fresh cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, and fresh berries, mixed fruit
Yogurt selections
Breakfast Specials Daily
Scrambled eggs, omelets, and eggs to order
Biscuits and gravy
Asparagus
Breakfast Pizza
Biscuits
Smoked Salmon (Lox)
Cream Cheese
Tomatoes
Capers
Mickey waffles
Bacon and sausage
Seasonal potatoes
Assorted hot & cold cereals
Bread pudding with vanilla sauce
Muffins, danish, and donuts
Bagels & breads toasted to order
Coffee and tea, juice selections
Egg Beaters on Request

The characters dressed in beach clothes are super cute. We left positively stuffed - too stuffed for our Akershus lunch!

We are planning a return trip here for our next trip.

This is really an excellent character meal. We went for the first time in December. The food was fantastic and we had great character interaction. :thumbsup2 We are planning on returning next trip. It is quiet, and almost peaceful, for a character meal. You can find Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in their beach wear. I'm sure you'll love Cape May! :goodvibes

Been there many times....

Pros-great character to guest ratio...sometimes they've made it by our table twice. I think it depends what time you go. If you go very early...around 7'ish.... we've had them pretty much to ourselves. Later in the morning 8am or after it gets busier, but still a good ratio.

Cons- We've found it to be quite a bit smaller than Crystal Palace & somewhat smaller to Chef Mickeys. Over the years they've changed things such as: they used to do eggs to order...now they don't. (But they do at Crystal Palace).. also they used to have big tablecloths with crayons. As the characters came by they would write & draw on the table cloths. I have a couple of funny drawings from goofy that I brought home & framed..but I've heard they no longer do this either.

In my opinion if you are going there for fantastic Character interaction..go for it! If you are going for the food & multiple food choices then we go to Crystal Palace.
