which character meals would you never do?

I'm at the point where I won't do any more of them unless I have to - but I am more interested in food than characters and the food isn't so hot at character meals. I've done a lot of them in the past though, when the food was worth paying for as well as the characters.

I have never done H&V - those characters are specifically targeted to preschoolers and I have never been with a party that had preschoolers and wanted to go, plus I hear the food is really not much to write home about.

Well, honestly, this may sound a little scrooge-ish, but we avoid all the character meals. We don't like having to put down our food to get up and take a picture every 5 minutes. :confused3

LOL i hear ya. My husband and I wouldn't do any if it were just us and our oldest. But I figured we might as well since the twins will be 5, it will force us to sit and rest, and its a good way to get in characters without having to stand in line during our park visiting time. Plus we're doing the DxDP so they'll have to suffer through a couple signatures for us adults LOL

The only character meal we're not planning on going back to (well at least for a few years and never again for dinner) is Akershus. We've tried it twice for dinner and both times we were not happy with the food. That being said we actually like Scandinavian food, just didn't care for what we had there. And the characters have always been in such a rush. We barely got pictures let alone autographs. The first time we thought it was just because we didn't have the kids with us..nope, went again last year with our son and oldest daughter (then 1 year) and it was the same. The only character that trip that really took an interest in our table was Snow White.

I'm sure at some point we're going to cave in since we have two little girls. But like I said, it wouldn't be for dinner. I've heard breakfast is good, so if we need to go back to make the girls happy breakfast would be the meal of choice. This year we will be heading to CRT to get our princess fix. Hopefully, the interaction (and food) here will be better.

We are trying H & V for first time but as we have a preschooler we are going for the characters.

I will never do Ohana only b/c DS really dislikes Lilo and Stitch. I know...the horror!

We would not elect to go back to Chef Mickeys...as others have said--crowded, noisy, fast and furious character interaction and just okay food.

LOL at the comment of having to put your food down every five seconds to take a picture. It is so true!!! Guess that is why we all fill our plate up like it is Mt Everest...b/c you only will nibble at it and you feel like you are getting your $$$ worth that way! HA!

We went to Hollywood and Vine because our kids love the Little Einsteins and it was the first ADR that we made. Although the restaurant is tight and has a hectic environment, we thought the food was one of the better buffet offerings. We were there for lunch and left full and content (although perhaps with headaches). I recommend giving it shot, especially if the kids want to see Leo, June and Handy Manny.

We love the Crystal Palace dinner, the interaction of the characters was great...Now as for CM, well let's just say that we tried it once and we were not that amused, would I do it again no prob not...

The only one we haven't tried yet is Hollywood and Vine and that is because of the reviews on these boards. My kids are still young and still enjoy the character meals and it's much quicker for us to go and get their food than wait 15-20 minutes for it to be served to them.
I agree with PP about the food at Garden grill, not the greatest but we have consistently received some of the best service there.

We aren't a big fan of breakfasts in general, just don't want that much food in the morning so i can't see ever doing Ohana, Cape May, or Tusker House. And at the moment we only have boys so CRT, Akershus, and 1900 PF don't really appeal to us either. H&V could be OK but not one we are planning on doing.

We love Chef Mickey's and are doing CP too this trip. Would do Garden Grill but the characters are similar to CM so we gave my son the choice and he chose CP.
