Which Character Meal for Non-Park Day?

Hi all -- apologies if this has been answered before -- the search feature doesn't seem to be working. We booked our package through Costco and are getting 2 premium character dining vouchers. I was thinking of using these at table service restaurants for the voucher value, but I was recently given a boat load of Disney gift cards that should cover our other meal expenses. Our first night will be a non-park day, so I figured it may be a good opportunity to actually use the vouchers at one of the buffet meals.

It's pretty much between Goofy's and Storytellers. It will be for dinner and it'll just be DH and me. We are vegetarians so I'm a bit concerned on the offerings. For those that have been, does one seem to be better for non-meat eaters than the other?

We will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel, so Goofy's is nice for proximity, but I am thinking Storytellers will have a nicer adult vibe.

We always go to Storytellers for breakfast (lots of offerings at that meal but not sure about dinner), so just wanted to add that Storytellers is a buffet only non-character dinner and goofys is also buffet but has characters. They are pretty good about dietary needs so def let them know when you get there too!

I really enjoyed the craving stations, but I am sure they have great vegetarian options too.

I have done both and really enjoyed Storytellers. Yes, ambience was more adult, so I really got to enjoy the food vs looking around for characters. In my opinion, the food was better at Storytellers too.

Just in case it’s not clear- story tellers does NOT have characters at dinner time. Only goofys has characters at dinner.

I would really like to do Storytellers but it seems like all the reviews are, its just okay. I am also trying to figure out what we are doing on a non park day. We will arrive early our arrival day and we're not going in the park that day.

Thanks all for the replies! I realize the Storyteller's dinner is non-character, which I think is more our style anyway. I am leaning toward Storytellers.

I would really like to do Storytellers but it seems like all the reviews are, its just okay. I am also trying to figure out what we are doing on a non park day. We will arrive early our arrival day and we're not going in the park that day.

I know! That's the sticking point for me too -- I don't want just a "meh" meal. But it seems like a lot of the bad reviews have to do with the character aspect, so maybe dinner is a better bet.

For our non-park day I really had my heart set on taking my DH on the VOID since he's a huge Star Wars fan, but it sounds like it'll be Wreck it Ralph when we go. We may try Splitsville for some bowling -- the prices are high but not outrageous compared to some of the other "luxury" bowling places I've been. I definitely want to hit Trader Sam's for an extended period and do some shopping at World of Disney and the Disney Home store.

Have you considered using the dining vouchers for your in park meals and using your gift cards for a dinner at Napa Rose. I think the food there is significantly better than storytellers. They have the ability to customize dishes and have a good variety of vegetarian options.
