Which Character Dinners?

We are travelling w/extended family members (12 in total)...5 of which are children (1-3yrs, 1-5yrs, 2-7yrs, 1-9yrs). We have the myw dining package and plan to use all of our "sit-down meals" as character dining. If we choose a breakfast (maybe the 1st morning) we would just pay for it.

Which character dinners are the best? We are planning on the Princess Dinner at Akershus(sp?) in Norway...but I do not know what others are best. We have 3 girls & two boys so it would be nice to get some "boy" related characters in the mix.

I see a ton of info on the character breakfasts, but since we can apply the character dining we decided to use them for the dinners. We are in Disney from 10/10 to 10/14. :cool1:

We DO plan on attending the Wilderness Campground for the movie & marshmallow toasting at least one evening (perhaps two). We really want to keep things kid oriented which is why we are doing ALL character dinners for our sit-down options, so there will basically be one for every night there.

I really need your input...Princesses in Norway on first night(monday)? Then what? We want the first and the last dinners (monday & thursday) to be the "big bangs" with the middle dinners (tues & wednesday) to be the secondary choices. :scratchin

Thanks in advance! :flower3:

Well the Grand Daddy of all Character meals is Chef Mickeys in the Contemporary. Also we are going back to Liberty tree tavern- served family style and thanksgivingy. I am trying to think of the hotel ones try this link

you should find some good ideas here :mickeybar

I would suggest Chef Mickeys about as boy as it gets at disney for now anyway. I would also suggest 1900 park fare it has cinderella and prince charming. Crystal palace has all the pooh charters. I always enjoy Chef Mickeys on the first day so we don't have to wait inline to see Mickey when we should be riding the rides. Liberty Tree is also one of our favorites and you get Minnie Mouse. Liberty is also served family style so that might be easier with small children the rest are buffets.
Have a Great Trip

Maybe it should go like this?...

Princesses in Norway (must get girly stuff done asap!!) - Monday (arrival day)
Liberty Tree Tavern (Mickey) - Tuesday
Crystal Palace (Pooh) - Wednesday
Chef Mickey's - Thursday (for the big bang out!)

What do you all think of this line up?
Would you suggest Princesses in Norway or Cinderella's Castle Dinner? The girls WILL be bringing princess dresses btw! :flower:

OR Should we do the best of the best on Monday & Tuesday (while we're all fresh!) and leave the last two days for the minor character dinners? :faint:

OH....HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to try 1900 Fare Park. They have a Cinderella dinner, so that could be an option if you are unable to get Castle breakfast or lunch. And I guess it would depend on if the girls want Cinderella or not. If no, then go with the SBP breakfast in Norway. If they do want Cinderella, then you'll have to go with the Castle of 1900 Fare Park. As far as I know, there is no meal with ALL of them.

For boys, my ds LOVES Chef Mickey's. He said it was his favorite of all the places we ate.

If you make a breakfast PS in MK, either the Castle or Crystal Palace, try to get an 8:30ish PS on a day with no early entry. Getting into the park before it opens is awesome. It is a great picture taking opportunity.

I love both the Crystal Palace, as well as the Liberty Tree Tavern. :)

I think 1900 Park Fare has the best food. And don't overlook the Garden Grill.

I agree that the big bang is Chef Mickey's. We are staying 8 nights and doing every character dinner available.

Good luck choosing.

I also agree that Chef Mickeys is great for the last night. we went last year and had a great time. The kids loved it and we saw mickey, minnie, goofy, chip and dale, donald and daisy. We recevied all their autographs and had a great time. Chip and Dale were very playful! :bounce:

Thanks everyone soooooo much!!!

I am going to arrange dinner in the following way:

Princesses in Norway ~Monday
Liberty Tree ~Tuesday
Crystal Palace ~Wednesday
Chef Mickey ~Thursday

I think our family members would agree...in with a splash and out with a bang!

Is there any particular place for lunch (doesn't have to be on dining plan as that would be used up by end of Thursday...although we will have one "Counter service meal" left each!)?

You have all been so helpful, I really appreciate it!!!!
