Which character breakfast?

I've never been to DL and want to do a character breakfast. Which is your favorite and why?

The answer depends upon so much!
To me there's pluses and minuses for each place.
For best food, I think Lilo and Stitch. A plus (or a minus depending upon the situation) is that it's outside the parks. There is a nice variety of food, the bananas foster french toast is really good. They also have some polynesian favorites. The characters who are always there are Lilo and Stitch, but other favorites like Minnie in a luau dress, or Goofy in a Hawaiian shirt also show up. My experience is that they stay longer at the tables and interact better than any of the other options. They don't have quite as large a selection as some of the others. I like doing this one on a non-park day.
Greatest selection, hands down, is Goofy's. It is a "traditional" brunch buffet. Has alot of both breakfast and lunch options. They have a little kids buffet there (though anyone can eat any of the food.) The creme brulee french toast is great. It is outside the park, is the most expensive, and frankly I've been there for both dinner and brunch and haven't been all that impressed with the food. I'll do it, and it's not terrible, but not the fantastic experience I'd like. The character interaction I've had there is mediocre. There's typically 3-4 varied characters, and they seem to not come forever, then come in a wave and seem to be in a hurry. Happened both times I've been there, about a year apart.
Minnies is in the park. It has only breakfast food. But, I think the food is very good and has a very nice variety. I've heard others say that they aren't impressed by the character interaction, but I've only had very good experiences.
I didn't enjoy Storytellers at all (other than the company I was with, that was great!) for either the food or the character choices or interaction.
I haven't eaten at the Princess breakfast. My experience with the princess lunch and dinner has been pretty positive, with both the food and the characters and interaction. I've heard ok things about the breakfast food, but that it's nothing to write home about. It's not a buffet, it's a family style thing, and they don't have pancakes, waffles, or french toast (which is a draw back for my family.)
I have two boys, and if I was chosing based on having boys, I'd do Stitch or Minnies.

I have to say Goofy's Kitchen all the way. I think the food is great, in my experiance the character interaction is good.

Goofy's has the best selection for their brunch. I say this is a must do.

As everyone here on DIS knows, for me it is clearly Goofy's, hands down. One reason is because I am comfortable with it - I have been eating there since 1992 (see link in my signature for Trip Report/Goofy's pictures). But I have been eating there since 1992 because it always delivers for me. I am not a big fan of the GK dinner, but the breakfast buffet is outstanding. There is a wide variety of yummy things to choose from - wider than the buffets at the other character meals. You can get creme brulee French toast, banana crepes, biscuits and gravy, Mickey-shaped cobbler, croissants, mini-muffins, mini-Mickey waffles, all kinds of pastries and standard breakfast fare, pizza, chicken, and the fruit is SO fresh and delicious, while the bacon is some of the best I have had. I like that there is a mix of furry characters and face characters. The regulars seem to be Goofy, Chip, Dale, Baloo and Pluto, and there is a rotating cast of guest stars which includes: Alice and the Mad Hatter, Aurora and Prince Phillip, Jasmine and Aladdin, Belle, Snow White, Captain Hook, the Genie, Minnie, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, etc., etc. If there are lots of characters on duty at one time, it can be hectic and sometimes hard to get a bite of food because they are coming at you, one after another. If there are only a few characters available at a given time, they make repeated visits to the table for more 'quality time.' It is a fun, lively environment and the characters are playful - even for those of us who have no children and just like to eat at Goofy's!!! It is costly to eat here, but I feel it is worth the money for the variety and quality of food you get, as well as the characters.

I have done Storytellers twice for their character breakfast, and while it is nice to have the option to order off the menu, I find their buffet to be a better value than the overpriced menu items. But the buffet is more limited than Goofy's, so it is hard to justify the price to myself. I love Chip and Dale, but I can see them at Goofy's. Baloo sometimes shows up, but I can see him at Goofy's. I am not that interested in Koda, Kenai or Terk, and I could take or leav Meeko. I think Storytellers is a nice restaurant for other meals - it is very quiet and relaxing and cozy - but I am underwhelmed by it as a character meal. It is not bad, and I would recommend it to someone who wanted a more sedate, calm meal as opposed to the high octane fun of Goofy's, but I am sticking with my old pal Goofy and his friends and their buffet!!

Goofys. Best food for the tastes of my group, best character interaction by far.

Close behind would be Storytellers. It has the fur characters which some kids might not know - happened to poor Terk on our stay. It's more laid back and a bit more quiet.

Lilo & Stitch was good too, but when we were there there were only three characters around. If I pay that much money I like my share of characters.

By far our least favorite was Minnie's. We hated the food and the character interaction was worst of all meals as well. This was actually the only meal where some character skipped our table.

If I am not mistaken I think Goofy's Kitchen opens at 7:00 a.m. We have gotten there at 7:00 and 7:30 and even 8:00 before, but some DIS-ers report that there are more characters and fewer people if you go a bit later in the morning, like around 11:00 a.m. We like to get breakfast out of the way before we do the parks so that is why we go there so early. Sometimes Goofy's stays open for the breakfast/brunch shift a bit later, during busy times of year (like maybe until 2 p.m.) and other times, they stay open for breakfast/brunch until noon and the close. There have been reports that the characters start to disappear right before the end of the breakfast, so you might not want to go close to closing time and miss seeing characters. Then, of course, they do open again for dinner later on.

As for price, well there are seasonal differences that affect cost, not to mention the fact that the breakfast is cheaper than the dinner. During the off-peak seasons, Goofy's breakfast was in the range of $32 and some change for adults. Dinner was about $38 or so. But during peak season (like now - summer), the prices go up and breakfast is probably more like $37-ish while dinner is probably more like $44-ish.

So, in other words, an off-peak season breakfast will always be the cheapest meal option at Goofy's!

The Lilo & Stitch breakfast is usually less crowded and you will get more interaction with the characters. The food was great!

Well lets see....GK is the best for the characters...but the food is so so.

Storytellers at the grand the food is better. But the characters are not as good.

So if your kids are little I say GK...if they are older than I say ST.
