Out of all the character breakfasts, which one consistently has the best food quality in your opinion?

My husband loves Chef Mickey's but I'm curious to hear other opinions. We have tried Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare and they were both fine. I would like to know about Cape May and Hollywood and Vine anyone had those?

I enjoyed 1900 Park Fare. I LOVE breakfast buffets, and that one was so much less crowded and crazy than Crystal Palace.

I didn't vote, because we've only tried 2 recently. In our experience, Tusker House was much better than Crystal Palace.

We did Cape May a few weeks ago. Imo, you would have to be going for the characters only, lol, as the food was mediocre at best. When a child says the sweet rolls do not taste good, you know something is wrong. The hot food was cold (bacon, waffles, etc.). The waffles were so so. The sausage didn't taste the way breakfast sausage should taste. But the fresh fruit was good, the cold bacon was good (would have been better hot or at least warm) and the coffee was hot. I was warned before going to this breakfast not to go for the food and they were right.

Character interaction was good, though. Waitress was very sweet, nice service, though it did take a while to get the check.

Our Favorite Character Breakfast is "O'hana's" food has always been
good, character interaction wonderful (Love- -Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto) location/atmosphere very enjoyable. We have ate at "O'hana's" for the last 3 years and will be eating there again this coming year. I like to be able to hop on the Monorail after eating and head to MK.

This last trip we tryed "Donald's Safari Breakfast" at AK and it was also very good. Enjoyed the Characters: there is Donald, Daisy and Pluto.
I thought the decore was unique. We were able to get to Ak at Rope Drop and do the Safari ride before our ADRs (which worked out great).
We will probably eat here again this coming trip.

I have eaten at PSB, Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and Tusker House.

I rate them in this order:

Crystal Palace #1 because of the consistent good food and being right in MK.
#2 CM--good food but you have to travel back to a park.
#3 PSB--food is ok and we will do it again but we prefer all the "fixins" for breakfast.
#4 Tusker house-- some items were swimming in grease, poor service, characters were having an off day and a couple would not sign autograph book. We won't go back.

Just my humble opinion here, of MANY character breakfasts in the past. 1~ A mickey waffle is a Mickey(or Pooh) waffle, and bacon is bacon, so to speak. If given 2 mickey waffles (or plates of eggs, fruit etc) from 2 diff character buffets, I couldnt tell what came from where. The differences are this. Some character breakfasts are served family style instead of buffet, which may be a preffered style of service for you (or not). But for me, when it comes to choosing a character meal, I am making that decision strictly based on the characters, especially with breakfasts. But even with dinner buffets, the choices just seem to overlap in my mind, which leaves me to choose BTW the character such as Pooh, or Mickey. I imagine service could be exceptional, or sub-par at any restaurant, at any time. Its a matter of bad luck, when you get less than decent service.

Of the options listed, I have eaten breakfast at 5 of them in the past 3 years. I voted for CRT, because I just love the stuffed french toast they have there! Is it worth the higher price compared to the other choices? :confused3 To me, yes, but more because of the setting than the french toast. Many would disagree. I don't think there's any major difference in the food quality you get at any of the character breakfasts. It's more a matter of whether you prefer a buffet where you can take as much as you like of whatever you like (but run the risk of being at the buffet when the characters come to your table) or being served a preplated meal with the promise of refills of anything you want (but there's a risk of having to wait forever to actually get it!). There's also the consideration of which characters you want to see. But quality of food? A Mickey waffle is a Mickey waffle no matter where you eat it. And anywhere you go, you may get a hot Mickey Waffle or a semi-cold Mickey waffle.

I think that the Crystal Palace has the best food and the best location. Breakfast and dinner are both really good. If you can get a reservation for breakfast when they open, it is usually a lot less crazy. And the Crystal Palace has puffed french toast for breakfast, which is amazing!! Park Fare 1900 also has really good food, just be sure to check which characters will be there for the day you are going.

ITA with this statement. Breakfast is probably the only meal that hasn't changed in 150 years. We eat mostly the same things today that pioneers did on the Oregon Trail. Eggs are eggs and bacon is bacon. Some meals are served in large platters family-style, and some are buffets. Having said that, your options are limited with the family-style, limited to what they give you. Buffets have more options but also have lines to contend with. I don't think any breakfast spots are exceptional and service is luck of the draw. Base your decisions on whether or not you want to see characters, if so, which ones you want to see, and the TS location that is most convenient for you. The quality of the food is all subjective to personal tastes anyway.

Although we haven't tried all locations, I had to vote for Tusker House. It had just as good, if not better selection as Chef Mickey's and it was easier to get around and we felt it was easier to get in and get out. Plus...we liked the fact we ate in the park and then didn't have to travel to the park.

Most of all...the selection met the needs of our whole family...which has a very picky eater...
