Hi,

I have to choose one out of 3 car rental companies that the vacantion agency offers. The prices are almost the same for the comperable options

Hertz: inc. LDW, LIS, Taxes+ Surcharges, Extra Driver fee, 1st Tank of Fuel. ($224/week)

Avis: inc. LDW, LIS, Taxes+ Surcharges, 1 Extra Driver, 1st Tank of Fuel. ($218/week)

Alamo: inc. CDW, EP, Taxes+ Surcharges, 3 Extra Drivers, Tank of Fuel, Silver Line Express ($225/week)

Which one should I choose and why? I have rented a car once before with Alamo in Miami and it was a disaster (1st car we got had 'broken' written on the car and they refused to give us another car, finally we got another but the messed up their administration and when we returned it we were told that we were late returning the car by 2.5 weeks (wasn't true) and that we had to pay over $750. Luckely this never happened, but i still wonder if someone else got to pay this).

Thanks

Remko

Avis was hassle free for us. No problems whatsoever. Go to their website and sign up for their Preferred Service plan (I believe it's free) and you can select your car and go right to it, bypassing the counter altogether. I was signed up for their Wizard plan and did use the counter, and that was very fast too.

We now take the low bidder that is on the airport. With your choices, I'd take the Avis bid.

Thanks for your input.

I think we will go for Avis, because they are the cheapest and they are onsite.
