Which Car Park at Manchester Airport

We have used Car Minder 2 as part of Bewley's hotel stay & park.

It was OK although we had to wait 30mins for a bus that's meant to run every 15minutes.

We have used premier parking on several occassions and have always found the transfers to be frequent and quick :)

We use airparks, which is off site, but have buses that take you to the airport and collect us when our plane lands.

We got a really cheap deal in Dec 2 weeks for £20, as they have deals on now and again.

Just booked the new shuttle park at Manchester :thumbsup2

£50 for 22 days.
No idea what it's like but it says it's only a mile and half from the terminal :sunny:
Also booked Manchester airport Travelodge for £10 / family room for the night before :cool1:

Hi there,

Many thanks, Alison please can you provide details of the new shuttle park. I too have booked a £10 family room, thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2

We used the Britannia Country hotel last time. We parked at the hotel and got a transfer to and from the airport. The hotel was fine.

We've stayed at the Britannia country house before and found it fine too :thumbsup2
I have heard some folk on the board say that they found it noisy if staying on a Fri / Sat night as there's a night club downstairs and they host weddings etc. Guess it just depends on where your room is :confused3

The new shuttle carpark seems to be a new, onsite (well 1 1/2 miles away, according to Manchester airport site) park.
I think the £50 is a promotional rate to drum up interest in it's early stages - the full rate should be £154, same as the other two onsite parks

:scratchin

I think I'm going to rethink my hotel.

The Travelodge/Shuttle park combination will save me £60 over Bewley's.

Looks like the the family rooms may be better than Bewleys as well (have 3 beds)

we use meet and greet,
you drive up to your terminal unload your suitcases and they take your car and park it at the airport, on return your car is there across the way waiting for you! heres their number

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Hhmmm i've just gone on the Travelodge website and the room is £26.00, did you ring to get the £10.00 rooms?

thanks :sunny:

No, like the £26 rooms they only have a certain number of £10 rooms :confused3 :

Guess it's a matter of 'first come, first served'
It just depends on your date

Thanks Alison

I did find it on the website in the end and they dont have any £10.00 rooms left! And on top of the £26 they charge you £5 parking overnight, i know that is quite cheap for a family room but as we only live 50miles away we'll drive in the morning i think :)

lol, l have the bags packed at least 3wks before we go and can never sleep the night before so its not so bad!

Can anyone tell me what advantage can be made
of getting an overnight stay at manchester airport ?

what I'm getting at is can you get your suitcases checked
in early to save hassle on the day ?

thanks

Lee

also can I just ask the travelodge is the one at the aiport itsself ?

Hello

We found last year that the advantage of staying near the airport is that you dont need to get up so early to travel there. I'm not sure whether you could check in your bags earlier, l dont think Virgin offer that! We live about 50miles away from the airport so we thought traveling there the night before cut out the early morning rush with two children lol

The Travelodge is the airport hotel and is quite new, i think it only opened in November. Hope that helps you

PS If you do wish to stay in a hotel the night before, Travelodge is your cheapest option compared to most of the surrounding hotels :goodvibes
