Ok, so im going to WDW in a couple weeks, and i want to buy a good
waterproof camera/video camera to take videos there. Ive been
looking up a couple, and i heard of the cheaper Kodak PlaySPort, or the
more expenseive Pentax(Sp?) I just wanted to know what you fellow DISers
thought about these 2 cameras and ur opinion? Also i was wondering which kind of video cameras you may use? Thoughts please!

I don't have an answer for you but I wanted to suggest that you also pose your question on the Photography Board - they are usually very helpful and knowledgeable.

I don't use waterproof but I've moved from a big camera with multiple lenses to a slightly smaller camera with a zoom and now to a GOOD point and shoot. Lugging the camera around was simply more aggravation than it was worth. On top of that I buy cheap extra charges, cheap extra rechargeable batteries and extra memory cards. I also make sure that my wife's camera and my daughters use the same batteries, charges and cards. Same with cell phones as much as possible. Many cameras have available waterproof housings so you don't have to buy a waterproof camera. Obviously not the route for one who aspires to be a semi professional photographer but I just want to be able to take pictures of places and people and find that I get very good quality photos using my current options.

I've made a lot of posts on the Photography board with regards to this so you can find more information there, if you want.

Kodak PlaySport at Disney when it comes to water. Hands down. I'm owned and tried'em all.

I picked up a Fuji Z33(?) that is a small waterproof point & shoot. I use this for when we are on/in/near the water, and I use a Nikon D90 for my other picture taking. The Fuji has been a good camera for what I need, which is pictures of my family in the water. I did not want to spend a lot of money for a waterproof camera, and I opted for the Fuji.

If I had been willing to spend more, I would have purchased the Pentax waterproof camera. A co-worker has a Pentax and it took wonderful pictures both in & out of the water. I was really tempted to get the Pentax, but I really did not want to spend the extra money when I had purchased the Nikon not too long before.
