Which building should we request at the Poly?

We are so excited. We are renting a studio at the Poly. Just waiting on points, hopefully the studio standard view won't slip away from us- there is availability but the company we are using is trying to find us a member with points to rent. We are a family of 4 with daughters ages 6 and 9. We will be there April 2017, the week leading up to Easter- we will need early morning transportation. Which building is most convenient?

We liked Pago Pago it is close to the parking lot and TTC. I requested upper floor by the elevator we had a view of the parking lot and monorail but my grandson is a monorail fan.

We are in Tokelau now and it's been great! Super close to parking and only a few steps further to the TTC than Pago Pago. Very close to Oasis Pool and closer to ceremonial house than the other two DVC villas.

We are on the second floor, close to the elevators and like it!

FYI - I also have a 6 and 10year old. We did need to use the Hanging closet organizer for everyone's stuff to fit but we have managed okay enough otherwise! I brought some collapsible buckets that we put on top of the Murphy bed for organized storage - one has magic bands, one has sunglasses, and one has hair accessories! Huge help for my sanity!

We just stayed in Tokelau and really liked the location. I had requested that building for the sole reason I didn't want to chance getting a view of the parking lot.

All 3 DVC buildings are in close proximity so it won't make a huge difference for transportation. The walkway to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot is out the east end of Pago Pago and that is super convenient but the other's do not add that much distance. It's also the absolute closest to the buses, but again, none add much distance as the buildings are grouped together fairly closely.

Ask for the building farthest from the Ferry Boats. Those horns will drive you NUTS, starting about 5:30 AM.

Thanks for the tips! That was the building that we were looking at requesting. Have the boat horns been an issue?

At Tokelau I only noticed them a couple of times and that was at night. It was not an issue at all.

I heard my first boat born today!! Our 6th morning but in all fairness - Friday shouldn't count!

The horn I heard was at 7:20am. I didn't hear any after that either. I am an early riser as well. The water pageant parade and fireworks at night are MUCH louder than the horn - but my family of typically light sleepers - slept thru them everytime!

I will be renting lake view and will probably end up in Moorea. I requested 3rd floor but does anyone have actual room recommendations? Just curious.

All of the Poly lake view studios are in Moorea. Rooms closest to the TTC are also more likely to be bothered by the ferry boat horns. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to request closest to the Ceremonial House or closest to a pool.

Keep in mind that almost everyone who makes a request for lake view will request top floor. Even if all of the lake view studios were available on the day you check in, only 1/3 of those requesting top floor will have their request met.

We were just there in late September and as far as a standard room goes you can't get much better that Room 3914 in Tokelau. You are on the 3rd (top) floor, have a view of Seven Seas Lagoon, Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary. I loved watching the fireworks from our Balcony of our "Standard" room! Get it if you can!

Had 3020 in May, perfect view of the castle. We didn't pay attention to the horns, not a problem.

What would I request to have the best shot at this?

I'll again caution against requesting a specific room number. The more specific your request, the harder it is to have perfect alignment of the room being available the day you arrive. Asking based on more general features gives an assignor more options.

If you ask exactly 3914, and it's already assigned on your arrival date, how do you feel about Pago Pago?

You can certainly ask for second or third floor Tokelau, NW side, and that would give you more flexibility and more rooms potentially available for assignment. But my understanding, based on conversation in October, is that Tokelau is the most common request, and the assignors pretty much work in order. If you're late in the order, you'll get something else.

We stayed in a Lake View in April and loved it. Stayed in Moorea on the 3rd floor, very close to the end of the building closest to the TTC. The ferry horns were a little noisy, but we are early risers anyway so not overly troublesome for us.

Here are some pics of the view from our room:
