Hello,

We have decided to stay at the Poly for our next trip can anyone suggest a building that would be good for our family with 2 children ages 8 and 5.

Thanks,

Bob in snowy Syracuse, New York

Depending on how old your kids are, you may want to be close to the pool, arcade or Great Ceremonial House. If you can, get a concierge-level room near the GCH (e.g. Hawaii longhouse). This will give you quick access to the monorail, food, pool, and a great view of the lake and fireworks!

Hope that helps!

The Samoa longhouse runs parallel to the Volcano Pool. This was my DS 6 & 8 favorite part of the Poly. Had to take a swim every night before bed! (the slide is open 10-8; the pool remains open 24hr).

We have 3 ds who have been going to the Poly for years. This past aug. we stayed in samoa 1602, which is right in front of the volcano pool, ground floor. Its was perfect for us. Just keep the curtain pulled when you are in the room. We left the sliding door unlocked and the 3 ds came in after swimming or when they took a mug run to captain cooks. Its right down from the beach where you can watch the water paegent and see wishes. Its not too far a walk from the GCH. We also cut through rarotonga and niuie when there were bad rainstorms to get to the GCH. Its also a short walk to the arcade too. The other side of samoa has the quiet pool view I think.

We have stayed at the Poly twice, both times in the Concierge Building. (Hawaii Building) It was a little far from the GCH, but close to the pool, which my DS loved, and that was before they remodeled it. The concierge lounge always had snacks available, juice, great chocolate chip cookies and candy. We would stand on the balcony every night and watch the fireworks. If you can afford it I highly recommend it. :Pinkbounc

I agree with luvmarypopppins.... Samoa is the best longhouse if you're going for the standard room rate. It's close to everything and you can kind of get a sideways lake view if you're on the side that faces the pool. The other side of the building has a nice garden view, too.

I also agree, if you can splurge, go for the Hawaii concierge lagoon view. I think it's worth it if you plan to spend some time relaxing at your hotel.

Even if you don't get either of these longhouses, everything at the Poly is fantastic and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Have fun!:wave:

Two Words:

TONGA... TOAST.

Go to the Kona Cafe and order it for breakfast... (Then spend the next few hours working off the calories!)

Delicious, and worth every gram of fat!!!!

::yes::

The Samoa LH is for smokers. We stayed at the Niue LH and found it to be a wonderful location!:)

Samoa is non smoking now I think or maybe smoking optional. We did not smell one wiff of smoke while in there and I have the nose of a bloodhound as dh says and would never be there if it was because of ds and its Niuie that is smoking. Believe me, you could smell the smoke when we cut through there. I told the one ds that was off limits to him to use that shortcut to the gch in the rain.
Side note to tuffcookie - see you at the swan is april! Look for the 3ds, cant miss them,
