Hi everyone,:)
I just wondered which of the budget hotels cheyenne, santa fe, l'elysee is best?
We are thinking of choosing cheyenne purely based on the fact that it is closest to the train station and the park. I'm still wondering about l'elysee, but keep thinking the atmosphere wont be as disney as the onsite disney hotels. WHat do you all think?:confused3
Any help greatly appreciated, you guys really are wonderful!:grouphug: :flower3:

Santa Fe is the only one we have stayed at but it suited us fine. It is just as close to the station and parks as Cheyenne and DD(6) loved it. Great being able to park just outside our room. As a vote of confidence, we are staying there again this year. popcorn::

We too have stayed in Santa Fe,which was perfect for our needs a nice 20min walk from the parks.
The rooms were clean and loads of drawer space although I did find breakfast time very busy.
I would definately stay there again.

I would choose the Cheyenne or Santa Fe over anywhere similar offsite - I definitely prefer being in a Disney hotel :thumbsup2

I liked The Cheyenne, fab theming and worth the extra over The Santa Fe IMO. We've also stayed at The Holiday Inn which was nice and much cheaper when we went (peak season summer!)

We've stayed at Cheyenne & Santa Fe, I much preferred Cheyenne, but it wouldn't stop me staying at the SF again. I wouldn't stay offsite, non Disney hotel unless I really had to. That's just me :)

Yeah I'm leaning more to the Cheyenne, but secretly hoping we might be able to go DLH!

I would certainly never choose off site by choice. I have stayed at both Santa Fe and Cheyenne and would probably choose Cheyenne as the better one. Saying that, before we had our DS we would choose to stay in Santa Fe because it was cheaper even if it wasn't as nice, but now we would choose the more expensive option.

Cheyenne isn't that much closer to the parks in my opinion, perhaps there is a few mins in it, but not enough to make a difference in your decision

Our family is splitting up our time in France between the Newport Bay and the offsite Explorers Hotel. We're staying at the Newport for our park days and moving to the Explorers for the days we are going to Paris. Because there are five in our family, it didn't make sense to change over to the Santa Fe or Cheyenne and have to get two rooms.

But..and reason that I'm writing this is....the Explorers seems to have very fine themeing (actually my DS is looking forward to this place very much!) and its price was very reasonable (especially to the Disney options we were considering!)

Another thought...

From your two choices I would have to opt for the Cheyenne. I have never stayed there but have read very few bad reports. I have 'endured' two stays at the SF both of which were not the best because of damp, worn rooms and awfull breakfast experiences :headache:

Its about personal choices but I would re-consider the off-site hotels if only for their prices. :goodvibes

Yes they dont have the disney characters for that hour in the morning nor does the decoration scream Disney but you will definately get the disney fix whilst at the park during the day.

If, like us, the hotel provides nothing more than a place to rest your head then its worth revisiting.

(PS: Ifg finances allow I would choose the Admirals Floor of the NBH but even then for the price of 4 nights you could have 8 or 9 offsite :yay: )

Horses for courses so good luck with yours :goodvibes

i would advice you to go to Cheyenne but, for a bit more you could stay
at SQL Lodge what really is one of the best hotels of the resort.
(my personal fav.)
