which bridge/border to take to the U.S.?

My husband and I will be driving from Toronto to Florida next week. We are taking the 77/79/95 route as we are staying near Melbourne. We are planning to leave around 5 p.m. next Thursday. My question is which border should we cross over in the U.S.? Are some crossings quicker than others?

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

To go shopping I would normally take Lewiston/Queenston. But I know there have been lots of backups lately. I will be taking the Rainbow Bridge this weekend!

We always cross at Fort Erie- not sure of the bridge name.

We cross the Detroit bridge- you'll probably hit the bridge around 9pm- shouldn't be too busy- just depends on the trucks.

From Toronto to that route I would cross at the Peace Bridge (Fort Erie). It is super easy to pick up the highway towards Erie, PA.

We also use the Fort Erie bridge. We have used all 3 but lately I have found Queenston Lewiston to be the busiest.
