We will be down in WDW 4th of July week and would love to do one breakfast buffet. I was wondering everyones thoughs on which brakfast buffet is better, Trails End, Beach Club Cape May or Chef Mickey? I was able to get reservations for both Trails End and the Beach Club. So far Chef Mickey has been sold out but thought I would keep trying. We are two adults in our 40, my boyfriend 18 year old son, boyfriends sons 18 year old girlfriend and my boyfriends 70 something year old father. My boyfriends dad lives in Orlando and is not supper crazy about Disney but would like to go to one meal with us. He went to Chef Mickey's in April with my boyfriends sister and her family and he like it.

Also, I know they take a picture when you go into Chef Mickey's - do they do the same at the Cape May buffet or Trails End?

Thanks,
Linda

Hi there :wave2:

I know this probably won't help, but have you thought about going to The Crystal Palace in MK.

A great breakfast buffet

:thumbsup2

We are eating there for lunch one day later in the week. We are looking for something not in the park as my boyfriends dad will be with us only for the meal and will not be joining us in the park.

My experience is for the BEST overall breakfast buffet is Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Outstanding selection and juice that is the best around. The atmosphere at the AKL is also a huge plus.
Secondly, the next best buffet is Crystal Palace in MK. Third would be 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian and Chef Mickey in forth.

If possible, try Boma's on you way to see Animal Kingdom for the day, you won;t be disappointed.

I would say keep trying for chef mickey's. If not go for Park Fare or Boma! They are must do's each time we go down!

We're doing Cape May on the 4th, maybe we'll see you there! I love that buffet, although I have never done the WL buffet. The Boma buffet might be the best however for the ages of your group. Plus to go out to the viewing areas after would be so nice. I think I'd go there.

You should try one for yourself. Try a different one each visit.

We've done the Crystal Palace and the Beach Club, the Beach Club wins hands down with us. The last time I was there, they did not take pictures, but it has been awhile.

Chef Mickeys is great. Good food, but great rotation of the characters. Had breakfast there earlier in the year and saw every major character, much to the delight of my niece!

One thing to consider, will DBf's Dad complain if the meal isn't as good as his experience at Chef Mickey's? I'd hate to see you have to hear about how you picked this awful place (in his eyes). Its one meal, if he's a orny old guy give him Chef Mickey's and save yourself some grief. Keep trying and telling your sob story, maybe they'll "find" something for you.

If he's a go with the flow kind of guy, pick what will please your 18yr old bottomless pits! He'll probably be happy to see his grandson happy.

I never though of Boma - but we love their dinner buffet. I'll keep calling to see if anything else opens at either Chef Mickey or Boma - they were all booked last time I called.

I know what you mean about BF father. He hates 'Ohana - our favorite - he always says - they have great Chinese buffets by him for 9.99 - why do we need to spend so much at 'Ohana. Definately NOT the same kind of food. We always do some dinners with him and some with just us as he does not understand our love of everything Disney.

As far as feeding two 18 year olds - we are doing dinners at 'Ohana and Boma and lunch at CP. Hopefully it will put a dent in their never ending hunger.

Thanks for all the responses,
Linda

Trail's End is cheaper but the buffet is just as good as the rest.

Pictures were taken with our group when we did Cape May several years ago just like at CM.

One suggestion for OP or for others to consider, we did early breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus in the AK so that we were able to be on the 1st train at Expedition Everest (after getting FP for later ride).

Cape May is awesome! They do not take pictures like at CM. The food is so good and there is a ton of fruit and other healthy items like a yogurt bar, asparagus etc...this is always a must do for us.

Since the place is not that busy you get a lot of character time, they come over and "talk" with you via crayon and paper tablecloths. Goofy, Minnie, Dale and Chip are so cute in their bathing attire.
