Can anyone tell me which is the better book to buy,Next Exit or Exit Now?
We have a 35' fifth wheel. On our last trip we found out it is sometimes hard to park at restaurants along the way. So we would like to get that sort of information. Camper friendly parking, which gas stations sell diesel, rest areas, and easy"at a glance" information. Thanks.

I am not familiar with Exit Now, but I LOVE our Next Exit book and wouldn't leave home without it. I have a sister that lives in a pretty remote area of Vermont, and the Next Exit book's information was current even for her area. :thumbsup2

We also like the NEXT EXIT great book we have used it for years with little or no problems just remember to replace it every other year to keep things current and up to speed on the new changes that are made. Good luck K.:cool1:

We have used both, since I do the driving and cussing and Kathy does the navagating and name calling I will give you her take on it.
Kathy prefers the Exit Now book because it is layed out by interstate not by state, she can follow it through each state as opposed to having to find the interstate within each states pages. The Exit Now book is spiral bound and she likes that too.
Last year though we were on interstate 66 going into Washington and oops, no pages in Exit Now, they seemed to have left that route out. A call to the books publishers, which I think is through Good Sam and the pages were mailed to us, a lot of good that was at the time. The guy on the phone said that they had calls of a few pages that were left out when the book was published.

We have found with either book that its not always easy to get into fuel pumps when it says RV friendly, some places you would have to back out or can't even get into the pumps. We have gotten off a few times and the gas station was miles off the interstate, this is where the books are the best, they tell you how far off it is and which direction.

One note: don't go near Washington DC if you can help it, its a nightmare.

We have a 34 foot 5th wheel pulled by a long bed crew cab. My DH does all the driving and I do the navigating and keep the kids happy! We have traveled through 28 states using The Next Exit and it was great! It even lists the exits to ranch access roads that lead to nowhere which was really helpful when we lost a wheel bearing in AZ and needed a safe place to get off the highway quickly :scared1:. The off ramp we parked on was in the book but not on the map, and much safer than the shoulder of I40 to make repairs! It also listed the dealer in Flagstaff where we found the parts we needed. I bought a copy of Exit Now because I like the layout of the book as Tnbob explained. I plan to carry both on our next trip and compare. Check out Amazon for some good prices.
Keep in mind that "Camper Friendly Parking" still may not fit your rig. We have come across a few places with 40 ft spots that we were still to long for! We always try to get a look from the road before entering the parking lot.
Happy Travels!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Sounds a lot like our family road trips, except I'm the one driving and cussing, and DH is the navigator and name caller. :lmao:

Here too! :rotfl2:

We have The Next Exit, but every so often things go horribly wrong with my navigator :upsidedow and it's.... Blackberry to the rescue! :thumbsup2

I have the Next Exit. Even though I don't travel distances where I need fuel inbetween it's still pretty useful. I travel a lot without the camper and it's nice to have just in case. My GPS will give u fuel info but doesn't say diesel which I have. I got the 09 edition at CW in November for pretty like 10 bucks.
