I make my ADRs in less than 30 days so I'm starting to plan them all out. Which is better, BOG for lunch or dinner? My plan is to do this on our first MK day!

We did lunch there 2 years ago. If you are on the DDP, it is only a quick service credit which is nice, and you also get to see the inside of the castle. That being said, I thought lunch was kind of hectic and would rather try the dinner our next trip. I know this is a very hard to get ADR though, so I will probably do breakfast or lunch again if I can't get dinner. (We make our ADRs in just over 30 days!!)

Does either menu appeal to you more than the other? We went for dinner. The deciding factors for us were (1) my husband wanted to meet the Beast (only available at dinner), and (2) we liked the dinner menu better. We also preferred to have our ADR at the end of the day since we didn't know where in the park we'd be around lunchtime and didn't want to have to stop something else we might be enjoying to make it to a meal at a set time. It was a relaxing and genuinely magical way to end our MK day.

We've only done lunch and that is purely because we like using it as a quick service meal on our dining plan. We usually do CRT as our dinner option. I would be interested in trying dinner sometime, though.

Dinner - for 3 reasons:

1. It's seems less hectic
2. The beast - gotta have my Beast hug or the trip is frankly not worth it.
3. you can get booze :drinking1 - Probably just me, but I still feel slightly naught having a cheeky glass of wine with my dinner in the MK - feel like it's a speak easy and if the Disney police came in we'd all be busted!!! - but not to worry the beast would hold them off until we could make our escape; then blend in with the crowds on Small Small World..

Lunch if you're wanting to save money, dinner if money isn't an issue and you want the full BOG experience. That was one of our favorite meals 2 years ago. We are doing both lunch and dinner this December since they are both so different. Yes lunch is hectic and loud, but for a CS credit it's worth it and to us, better than the other CS options at MK

I prefer the lunch menu for my family (not a lot for my 13 and 14 year olds on the menu for dinner). But dinner has the Beast.

We greatly prefer dinner. Lunch just feels like a big, noisy, chaotic QS place that happens to be in a castle. Dinner is much more relaxed. The entire atmosphere feels different to us at dinner. We have also had some of the best CMs as servers at BOG dinner and have always had an excellent meal. We though the food at lunch was okay, there are more unique menu items compared to some of the other QS places, but lunch has never been a memorable experience for us at BOG.

Dinner is definitely better than lunch, but they are really two very different experiences. Lunch is a quick service meal, and while one of the better QS options at Disney, it's still a QS meal.

We've had some really great dinners here with excellent service and really good food. Plus you get to meet the Beast at dinner.

FWIW, they are different enough, but good enough, that we have done both in the same trip and even on the same day before.

I agree, for these exact reasons! Lunch was ok but definitely louder and more hectic.

I love the lunch. Always do it at least once a trip, usually twice, I like to start and end our trips there. The french onion soup, french dip sandwich and strawberry cupcake is easily my fav Disney meal.

Both have great menus. but dinner is a clear winner with us. So relaxed, food is great, and the Beast!!

Exactly! I love the idea I can have a glass of wine!!

Awesome thanks everyone! As long as we can get an ADR next month we are going to try for dinner!!

I have not tried dinner, but did do lunch. I felt that lunch was relaxed. We ate in the west wing so the room is smaller and not as loud as the main ballroom. Because it was a QS lunch i felt that we could roam around after our meal to check out each unique room. We are doing lunch again with family who have not been. I think the ability to check out each room is a plus- I don't know if i would feel the same way if we were eating dinner. The food is good for lunch. I have heard that the food for dinner is good but not spectacular. so if you are going for the environment lunch will get you in there and will cost less. The only character at dinner is the beast and i felt that my 4DD might actually be scared by him. If Belle was there for dinner it would be a definite must do. I guess you need to weight what your priorities are.
