Ok. So I already have several books (UG, Passporter, etc) but was looking today at the new Birnbaum's books coming out in a few weeks.

For now (and for a while I presume  ) we are just a couple without kids. By the time we have them, I will - of course - already need a new edition anyway, so let's just say it's the two of us, DH and I.

Is "Birnbaum's Couples w/o Kids" book really a "scaled down" version of the regular, mostly the same but without all the "kid stuff" or are there things that are added? If it is just a thinned out version, I would just as soon get the regular for practically the same price.

If it's significantly different, though, I think I'll just read the general info from the UG, etc and get the one just for couples.

Opinions from past editions?

Thanks in advance!

I really don't recommend any of them. I feel the Birnbaum guides are all fluff and no stuff. JMO. :teeth: I use the crazy out of my passporter and UG. UG has a guide for WDW W/O kids. You should check it out. I really liked it.

The same question to you, then.... is that book (UG w/o Kids) much different from the regular UG book? Thanks for your quick reply:)

Also, anyone else on the Birnbaum books? I know they have great pictures .... :) Lol.... but what about the substance?

We like Birnbaum's, but only because it's a yearly ritual for us to go and buy the new Birnbaum's even when we're not going to Disney. Overall, it's not the best guide for secrets and tips, but it's nice for people that haven't been to Disney or don't visit the Dis boards.

We bought it before our honeymoon and it was perfect for planning our entire trip. Some people think it's a lot of fluff, and it is, but I think it can be very informative as well.

As for the differences between all their books, there's none. The only thing is they edit it to include more adult stuff in the Without Children one and more kids stuff in the W/kids version.

My biggest complaint about Birnbaum's is that it hasn't been updated in forever, with the exception of just adding the new stuff. It would just be nice for them to at least put a little effort in re-writing it every year, instead of just re-releasing the same information with a new cover.
