Which attractions have harnesses/lap bars?

It's been 12 years since I've been to WDW and my memories are fuzzy, and many new things have cropped up. Can anyone help me make a list of the attractions that have either shoulder harnesses or lap bars? My dad loves rides but won't be able to ride restrictive attractions this visit (see my post re: traveling with someone with cancer). I know there will be an abundance of things he *can* ride, so I'm just trying to narrow down the list to show him what will still be available to him. Basically anything that holds you tightly in place is out -- a bar across the front that isn't up against the abdomen is fine.

Can you name some of the attractions that hold you in place pretty firmly across the chest or abdomen? Or direct me to another place that lists these already? Thanks so much!

You might want to get the book, Open Mouse by Deb Wills and Deb Koma. It is available from Amazon or also from the publisher, www.passporter.com . It is designed for people with disabilities and gives good descriptions of every attraction, including seating arangements.

About the only thing not in it is Toy Story Midway Mania, which is new. There are lap bars there, but they do not have to be snug.

Thanks for the tip, Cheshire_Figment -- I just ordered the book. The purchase got me a print copy which will be mailed but it also allowed me instant access to a downloadable version, so I can peruse it at my leisure and give the hard copy to my dad. Very convenient. I love PassPorter. Thanks again!

For the most part, I think the only rides with very restrictive bars are EE, pot. BRMRR (although you can set that one a little high) and RnRC(def. rest. the only over shoulder harness that I know of.) and SM; but most of the time you can just keep the lap belt a little loose-like Soarin'. Still, the best option is Open Mouse; I love that book.

Roller coasters would be out for safety reasons as they have them belts, bars and harnesses for a reason. I rode at DLR the Big Thunder with a loose lap bar and almost came out of my seat literally. Some Fantasyland rides have belts or bars but can be made loose. Tomorrowland Speedway would be fine as it is just to keep kids from hopping out but make sure you have at least one person, preferably more, in a car behind him to protect him from idiots who rear end other cars. Soarin should not be a problem.

Instead of making a CANNOT RIDE list you should make the list a Might Not be able to Ride List. You could ride first and see how the ride was. If you are setting in the ride vehicle pinned to the seat by a harness or had the lap bar or belt squeezing your midsection then say "Sorry No". If you find that you can safely ride and not be pinned to the seat or squished then give him a big smile. Remember the guinea pig gets to ride twice that way, lol.:rotfl:
