Which atg?

I am thinking of biting the bullet and getting an atg for the 29 days $29 dollars thing with the ban (although I am aware it will be more than $29). Which one is the best?

I have the 1/4" one and I love it. You can always do two strips if you want a bigger piece of adhesive but you can't make the 1/2" smaller!

I have the 714 (the red one). It only takes the 1/4" tape. I've had it over a year now, and have never wished I had the one that will take wider tape too. If I need something a little wider, I just make a second row. But I've only needed to do that a handful of times.

The adhesive is VERY strong, so you don't need a ton anyway.

I ordered my 714 today. (I am on the ban, but I got permission from the group for this purchase since it is an adhesive and will save me money in the long run). I tried to order from armel, but they aren't going to have the tape in for another month, so I went with framingsupplies.com.

Have you guys had an issues with them? A google search showed me all sorts of issues with the "new" ones. Apparently this batch has something wrong and they are defective, but i really want one!

I have issues but I have the 700- silly me got that one at the LSS without the adaptor - but the assistant told me it would work with the 1/4" tape which was right next to it on the shelf - I have a good mind to return it so i can get the 700 without having to buy the adaptor - pretty agravating!

So many people swear by those but they always look so big and clumsy to me. Next crop I will have to borrow someone's and try it for myself. I spend a lot of money on CM tape runner refills!

I have the 714 (red one) and love it. I ordered my online from framingsupplies. They have a great price on refills I always order 12 or more at a time. Sometimes I order with a friend and split the shipping cost.

Not having to refill often is a lifesaver in swap mode.

Hmmm - I asked my sis for this for my birthday (next week) and she ordered it a while ago she said but I don't know which one - if she got the 1/2 inch one is there an adapter for 1/4 in tape? I had read 1/2 was good but not sure which one she got. I can't wait to get it and hope my hand is better to use it! I'm tired of going through the little ones so fast.

Yes - yes - yes - the ATG 714 (red one). Order it from framingsupplies.com and you will have a nice laugh when the package arrives!! They have a unique way of wrapping/packing, but I'll leave it a surprise.

BTW, most people recommend to spend just a little bit more money and buy the Gold tape - it is acid-free.

got the 714 today! Love it. Not too hard to load---check out the video on-line. It is huge and intimidating looking though. Not heavy at all. Glad I got it.

Yes, there is an adapter you can buy to use 1/4" tape in the 700.
