Hi all! Newbie members heading down for my bday in April and using developer points at SSR. Which area should I request based on your past experience? Thank you so much!

P.S. It is just starting to hit me that we have become members of the DVC! :cool1:

We stayed at SSR this past October for our Food & Wine trip. I'd recommend the Grandstand section. It is the first stop on the bus route so you'll always get a seat. It is also very close to the main building, food court, etc.

grandstand - first bus stop

springs - last bus stop

both of these are the closest to CH (carriage house - front desk and where everything is)

here is a map

if you want close to DD - then Congress Park - you can easily walk to DD from here.

We just used our developer's points at SSR this last October. We started out at the Grandstand in a studio. I LOVED the view and being the first bus stop. It was also very quiet. We walked to the main pool at the Springs in less than 5 minutes. Then we moved to the Springs in a 1 BR. I LOVED the 1 BR, but I didn't particularly like the location. It was much noisier (trucks beeping woke me one morning), and we had a terrible view. Being the last bus stop also drove me crazy! If I had it to do over, I would have a 1 BR at the Grandstand!

We recently stayed in the Paddocks area and it was also a very short walk to the main pool and food areas. I liked having the quiet pool as another option-bus was not an issue-we had a car. View was of the "pond/lake" w/ a water fountain near the bridge.

I have also stayed in Congress Park-furthest distance I think to main pool area-but the "quiet pool" in this area has a view of downtown Disney. I loved taking an evening swim looking at DTD-very cool. But the distance can be an inconvenience.

We have liked our stays @ Congress Park due to the cool view of DTD. Also, we usually drive down from Georgia so the bus stops are not a big concern for us...

Grandstand is our first choice: first bus stop, short walk to main area, quiet, golf course and river views plus it has it's own themed pool with snack area and mug refill station.

Congress Park is our second choice: close enough to walk to DD and nice views as well.

Springs is our last choice.

Just back from a week long stay at Grandstand and loved our location, right next to the pool, close to the bus stop, and not far from Carriage House. We even walked home from DD and it wasn't too bad. For our next stay I'd probably try Congress Park just so I can compare locations and for ease of getting to DD, but I definitely recommend the Grandstand.

I loved Congress Park! We had a view of the DTD fireworks from the bedroom window, the grounds were beautiful to walk around in, the quiet pool was great with the view of downtown disney and despite the fact that I have several health problems I didn't feel the walk to the carriage house was bad at all.
