Which app for wait times?

I've been using Magic Guide to check waits, and it's definitely easier to use than the official Universal app. It's hard to even find how to get to wait times in the official one.

But I decided to check just to compare the two, and they are off by quite a bit. Does the official one always match up with what is posted in the park? It seems the Magic Guide relies on people updating it.

I use Touring plans "Lines" app. It also has user submitted times, but also goes by historical data and some formula. I've found it to be the most accurate of all waiting time estimations. It is a paid app, but inexpensive.

I don't know if they still do it, but you used to be able to buy their paperback guide and get free or discounted membership, if you like have a book to read while on the toilet lol.
We've used lines for both parks for years, and highly recommend it. It's like $12 for a year.

**Just went to the site, and there is a sale, it's $7.95

Magic Guide seems to be user submitted as well. I don't think I'll pay for a subscription for one day. With TP, are these people reporting on what they waited after they rode? With a 30-45 minute line, that doesn't seem like it would be that accurate since a lot can change in that time.

In general, are Universal's posted waits comparable to Disney, or are they more off due to Express Pass being less exact than FP+? One thing I noticed on weekends is that ET consistently has an 60 minute wait all day which seems odd. It is 5-20 minutes during the week. Is it super slow loading like Peter Pan?

*edit* I just downloaded the TP Lines app and it seems to be showing me the wait times without logging in or buying a subscription.

I think you only need a subscription to make custom touring plans, which you don’t need at universal, frankly...

Can say we’ve ever waited more than 15 minutes for ET. Sometimes the queue appears long, but you all go in when the doors open...

War Eagle!

Rumor was someone was possibly injured on ET a few days ago. Since then, it was closed for a couple days and now is showing much higher waits throughout the day. Possibly changed the loading procedure.

In the app there is a way to time directly within the app. So I’ll start the timer when we get inline and then stop and submit just before loading onto ride. My family loves to have me time the waits, they often remind me to “start the timer”. I must say I’ve been mostly surprised at our actual wait times- even over Christmas week the Jurassic falls ride was pasted over an hour, we waited around 43 minutes. TMs would estimate EP wait as 45-60 minutes, waited 20.
