So my Dh and I are using a portion of our tax refund to get Universal passes. In the past we always got the Preferred passes, but I was wondering if the Premier would be worth it.

We do try and go to HHN, so right there, I would think it is..we also tend to go later in the day or are there later in the day, so I think we would benefit from the Express option...

So what do ppl think, is it worth the extra $$ for the passes?

Well...it would save you from buying an off-peak ticket which would be around $50.00...that could be worth it right there.

Now I just need to explain to DH that the extra $$ is worth it in the long run..

Wow, really...we probably would down grade then...but want to try it out at least once..

The Premier doesn't have much of a discount for renewals so you might want to stick with the Preferred. It's not worth it for me to upgrade.

If you skip PAP renewal you have to pay full price again. I suppose it's possible you could switch your Premiere Pass for a PAP renewal but I would check that out (and get it in writing) in advance.

just renewed the premiers last week, and it was $186 pp + taxes, if I'm not mistaken, that's a $100 discount for renewal. Express after 4pm, HHN ticket and free valet make them worth the money. Flex pay would definitely be a plus, even the SeaWorld platinum pass has flex pay.

Ok, you guys have lost me again. What is the difference in the Annual Passes? I'll be at WDW in May and plan on going over to Universal 2 or 3 days (depending on if Harry Potter is open). My husband and I will be going back in Oct and will be going to Universal again for 2-3 days and will probably want to attend Haunted Night also. I'll also be at WDW again in Dec and may go back to Universal for another 2-3 days. I've already purchased the unlimited admission to 2 parks for 14 days tickets (one for my May trip and two for our Oct trip). However, I have just about decided to upgrade the ticket I'll be using in May to an AP and then save the other ticket I have for next year. Which of the Annual Passes should I upgrade to though? We will not be renting a car down there, but would want to purchase the Haunted Nights tickets.

Both the Preferred and Premier offer access 365 days with no blackout dates and include free parking and park discounts. But the Premier also includes an off-peak ticket to Halloween Horror Nights among other benefits like free valet and Express access after 4pm.

Here is the AP page for you to explore: http://www.universalorlando.com/Tic...s.aspx?ComponentId=12956&SourcePageId=12947#5

According to this link they both include a ticket to Halloween Horror night?:confused3 It also looks like the Premier AP is for Florida residents only? Since I won't have a car it looks like the main benefits of the Premier pass is the Express access after 4pm? oh and 15% off merchandise and meals instead of 10%?:confused3 Which restaurants give the discounts? Thanks!

It's never as simple as it looks. Yes, the Premier Pass gives you a HHN ticket but since most people close enough to make a Premiere Pass worth the money buy a Frequent Fear Pass that free ticket is worth exactly what you paid for it. Express access is ok if you have no friends. If you do then everbody has to have a pass or your friends get to wait in the regular line while you go through the express line. It's no good if you're a fanatic of one ride either. Let's say you want to ride The Mummy 132 times in a row. Your Premiere Pass will get you exactly 1 trip through the express line, after that you have to wait until tomorrow or use the regular line like everyone else.

If you're single and date a lot of different people the free admission to CityWalk clubs for yourself and a guest is a nice option, and you will look extra impressive when you take your date to the free valet parking area. Big plus.

Oh, you also get free water. Well, anybody who asks can get free water but your free water comes in a bottle.

The Power Pass if for Florida residents only. Anyone can get a Premiere Pass but you really need to be a local to get the most benefit. Your all-around best deal is the Preferred Pass.

Thanks, a Preferred pass it'll be then. Is there a list somewhere of the shops and restaurants that give the discount?

It's pretty much any shop/restaurant inside both parks and most of CityWalk. Just make sure you show them the pass so they can give you the discount.
