Which Animal Kingdom show?

I think Nemo is geared more towards younger families. The benches are hard with no back, the air conditioning is lacking and its kind of boring if you have ever seen the movie. Like others, I LOVE musicals, but this was one and done. I could forgive it if there where cushy chairs (Hall of Presidents, I'm talking to you) and good AC for a quick 20 minute nap, but alas it's not to be. You are getting good advice. Don't miss the Lion King!

Another vote for FoW! The keepers do a great job training the birds. In addition to being entertaining, it's also educational!

Have a dollar bill handy and you might get picked to be part of the show (but don't do this if you're afraid of getting "up close and personal" with one of the birds!).

The last time we were there, we seen both. I was even picked to go up on stage. A lady and I sat right in front of a perch, and a large bird of prey, (I don't remember which one) flew from the back of the auditorium and landed on the perch. It was so we could take a picture of the bird right in front of our faces. Unfortunately, my point and shoot camera had a slight delay and I missed the picture. This was some time ago and I don't know if they still do this or not. With that being said, I would still rather watch Nemo.

I love the Nemo show, but if you're not big fans of musical theatre with people and puppets, you can probably give it a pass. Nemo seems to be the most polarizing show at WDW.

Flights of Wonder is really neat and I've started doing it every year. It's one of those things that makes AK "AK," and I think it would be great for first-timers.

Frankly, the shows are all must-dos for me at AK; 3 shows, safari and at least the tiger trail make a pretty perfect day there for me.

Response to Bronco Bill - I'm having trouble quoting the message this morning for some reason:

I was at FOW in April this year and they were still doing what you described. I saw them get volunteer guests to take pictures from the stage of an owl, and I think it's been an owl the previous times I've seen it.

I want to be the person with the dollar bill.

We always go to Lion King and Flights of Wonder. This next trip we are going to work in Nemo but Nemo is the bottom one for me. On a hot day though?

I have never been to Nemo but it's on our list for this next trip. Disney's Nemo on Ice was one of the most well done ice shows ever and if this is anything like that, I expect we'll love it. FOW we have seen 2X and while it is good, it's not IMO anything that you can't see at any top tier zoo.

Finally starting to complete my plans but I'm struggling with Animal Kingdom. Mainly because we won't have the full day and there's a lot we want to do :/ I'm basically trying to decide if we should see the Finding Nemo show or Flights of Wonder. My siblings are of no help (one wants both the other doesn't care) and I'm trying to plan for the whole family. Parents, siblings and I age 20 and younger siblings ages 14 and 10. I've gone before but haven't seen either and Lion King is already on our list. Which one do you prefer and which one would you suggest to first timers?

Flights of Wonder hands down.

Flights of Wonder is great! I always make it a point to go. I can usually skip Nemo, but my 2YO DD loves Nemo so we will be there in September. Nemo is geared towards the younger child set. I still miss Tarzan Rocks! It was so much better than Nemo. JMO

Fow is wonderful. The preshow is also a can't miss show. Show up early for the show.

I love both shows! I guess if you really can only do one, maybe choose based on weather? If it's really comfortable out, do FOW, that way if you find yourself there on a really hot day in the future, you don't have to sweat through FOW and can enjoy Nemo and the aircconditioned break it offers.

I have to disagree that Nemo is geared toward young kids. It's a brilliant, Broadway quality show and I still cry during the "not my dad" song.

Well if you've ever gone to a disney on ice show that had nemo in it, it's basically that just with huge puppets and no ice and more music. The bird show is great if you like animals and theres volunteer opportunities. Keep in consideration for that day, fow is outside while nemo is indoors in ac. If it's sweltering outside you may just want to head into nemo for crowd/ heat relief.
Wow - I couldn't disagree more! I've been to lots of Broadway shows and a few Disney on Ice shows ... Nemo is not unlike the Broadway version of Lion King ... It is absolutely nothing like Disney On Ice - except that they both have clown fish...

All of the shows at AK are a must-do for me. If I had to choose between Nemo and FOW, I would choose FOW. My DD and her friend love that show, so that would be the deciding factor for me.

We have only seen Nemo and thought it was an awesome show. If your kids love Nemo they will love this show. I think we will try FOW this time. We have always bypassed that show to but it sounds like it is a pretty good show.

I dont want to take over your thread but I hope you dont mind if I ask which show should we choose between the Lion King Show and Flights of Wonder?
