Which ALLSTAR *or* POP?

Multi-time visitor who has always stayed at a Mod or higher when i go.
For this upcoming, spur of the moment trip, the only way to go and include Dining plan is to try a value. So, here's my question to those who would be kind enough to help: I understand the differences between a mod like Dixie and the values when it comes to room size and amenities and such.. but if *you* had your choice of the specific all-stars or going to the Pop, which would you recommend and why?

My biggest concerns are transportation time (as in shared busses and waits..and to go off on a tangent here, but am i the only one who thinks Wilderness Lodge and espically Poly are expensive enough to NOT have to share busses..not *even* to mention when they stop occasionally at the GF!..sorry.) and centrality to the specific "resort" center (pool areas).

From what i gather here, the room amenities are pretty much the same, even with Pop being newer..but do the school/sport/youth groups pretty much still stay towards the AllStars side still?

I too am a multi-time visitor that much prefers a moderate or deluxe resort - but I will stay at the POP for a "non-planned, spur of the moment trip". I have stayed at all of the other value resorts and they are ok but the bus transportation to those resorts leaves a lot to be desired. I also appreciate the fact that the POP is a newer resort and is not showing any signs of "aging". We have been very fortunate in that any room we have been in at the POP is not very far from the food court/transportation area. The only time that I traveled with a school group we did stay at the All Star Sports.........

This is a great question, because we are going to try a value in April for a few days before our deluxe stay. Really, for our family of 5, that is all that is available to us at this point and we'll have to get 2 rooms. Will the POP feel awful after only deluxe stays? Believe me, I'm not a snob, the family of 5 thing always easily pushed us into deluxes. I'm up for the adventure..just hoping the POP doesn't feel like bedlam after only deluxe stays.

I Heart the Mouse...why not try the family suites at All-Star Music. They accommodate 5 easily. We stayed in the suites last August and each of the 3 kids had their own bed (the couch, chair and ottoman pull out) and we had a private bedroom. There are also 2 bathrooms in the suites as well as a small refrigerator, microwave and sink. It was perfect for our family and less expensive than staying in the deluxes.

take allstars pop is the largest value resort there..its packed..all stars is smaller but buisy to,,but not as big so less people..aand cozier
