I pretty much have my heart set on POR if we go for free dining next year, but if DD and her boyfriend decide to come along we will need 2 rooms at a value. I have really tried, but I can't get into the theming of POP (the colors and icons totally turn me off), so we would go with one of the All-Stars. What resort would you choose (all adults except one teen) and why?

I picked Movies only because we love the theming. Love the huge movie icons. Makes you feel like you are in the magic while, in my opinion, Sports and Music don't as much.

Just my 2 cents.

I picked Music.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.
It tends to be quietest of all of the values.
It also has a lot of nice landscaping.

I like the food court at All Star Music for a quick grab and go breakfast on the way to the parks.

I like the fact I can pay for a preferred location and know I will be close to the main pool. food court, and bus stop.

I enjoy the theming at All Star Music. I love seeing the children having fun getting squirted by Three Caballeros (Donald and friends) at the All Star Music pool.

BTW:

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

All Star Music now has the privacy curtain which divides the sleeping area from the vainty area.

All Star Music is only value resort that has this curtain.

Here is a photo I took of the new privacy curatain at All Star Music:

It is a nice touch and a lot of value guests are excited that All Star Music has the privacy curtain.

I am hoping when the All Star Sports rooms are refurbished between june this year (2007) and Feb. (2008) they will add the privacy curtains to the Sports rooms as well.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

Please see my info thread for more of the reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

Music--because it shares buses only to AK, and has its own buses to MK, MGM, and Epcot. Sports and Movies share everywhere except MK.

if she doesn't like the Icons at Pop - don't think Movie would make her happy.

Music - it is where Disney puts adults, who don't have kids, who wants the all stars.

Thought I'd hate the icons at POP, but loved Lady and Tramp - also, we always request a top floor room on the lake side becasue that side of the buildings have far less icons and on the top floor hardly notice. Would not want to stay on the front and look at all the icons as part of our view.

So with a lakeside view at POP, no crazy icons and the lake, it makes it feel more like a moderate. We can usually see IllumInations when we're in the room at night - a nice plus.

We visited All Stars and would not want to check-in at that resort; The place makes me dizzy! :)

But if it was absolutely the only resort available I would stay there only if we could stay in Calypso :)

I picked ASMo because it's our favorite value. However, with all adults and one teen I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. They are basically all the same with only the theme and icons being slightly different.

True. In that case, I'd vote music if I could vote again. :goodvibes

I thought the family suites are in Music? That's what's worried me for an adult only trip. I mean, I love families, but sometimes we go for a little more quiet at the resort. Then again, if looking for quiet a value might not be the best option :)
