Hi Ladies,

Well here I am finished up a bunch of books I am working on and in need of yet another album. Imagine that....
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

But the decision is hard. I love CM books, but hate the fact that you cannot go back and move things if you forgot a page or an event. I have issues with order, obviously:rolleyes:  Plus paying for page protectors and the albums adds up quick.

Like Pioneer 12x12 albums for the fact that I can move pages easily if need be, like to put pix in the pages along with papers and stickers if I am going to a crop, sort of power layout and easily portable. But dont like the way the spine looks on the books when you add pages. Not so pretty. Cost is great too!

So which do you use and why?????

HELP!!! :( I have bday money to spend......got to shop.....feel the need to buy.....anyway you get the pix.

I searched forever to find the perfect album! I do like CM books but have the same problem as you plus I dont' care for the white pages...just a lot of money on the page...
I use the Forever yours album. only problem they are hard to find. But they have great colors, beautiful feel, removable spine like CM top loading and have an expander and 3 post. Very sturdy album and i have lots of pages in it!
hope this link works:

the link worked fine.

Are the covers nice like CM?

Any other sites where they are available?

thanks a bunch

I think they are as nice but different...another album with really nice covers is Dalee...but I don't know if they are in stores. That site sells them too.
Also this site sells them
www.luv2scrap.com
I know the girl who owns the first site. She just started up her online store. She sold SIAS and wanted to branch out.
I really do love these albums...

Hi,

I'm seconding Spinning's note on Dalee. I've used a variety of different books but have settled on Dalee.

I just ordered my daughter her first book and it is Dalee also.

My LSS used to carry them but no longer does. I order mine through Creativecropping.com

Usually pretty quick turnaround, and she'll work with her distributor to get you just about any cover that Dalee produces.

If order is a problem , you don't have to attach your pages to CM pages. Just slip the completed pages into protectors. ( think side loading , rather than toploading ). I can move my pages around any time I get ready and don't have to take my whole album apart.

I use several types. I use CTMH (close to my heart), K & Co and Making Memories. CTMH is my favorite, but K & Co and MM are more reasonable.

I prefer top loading for the same reasons already stated... you can move things around.

They are postbound(three posts) and hold over 100 pages! I
also think that Club scrap albums are also nice!

I used to do top loading, but then I hated the quality...two of my binder style Pioneer albums broke (the cover cracked). Sooooo, after much debating I switched to CM albums because I was intrigued with the lifetime guarantee and I could tell the quality was superior to what I had been using. Now, as you know, I am a CMC and am completely hooked on the product.

Did you know that CM now sells coversets, which is just the cover and spine, and that you can pick which pages you want to buy? Someone mentioned they hate the white pages- now CM gives you the option to not have to buy the white; you could buy a coverset, and only buy natural or black pages if that appeals to you more. It's like a make your own album. The coverset is $26 and comes in most of the colors, and the pages are the cost they have always been ($17 for natural or black, for 15 pages). Not all CMC's have switched over to coversets, or offer both coversets & regular albums, but so far my customers have been really receptive to it, as many of them like the natural or black pages. And that way you can work on your pages outside of your album, and when you are done rearranging them to the way you like, you then load them into your album.

Just a thought!

I actually have the sand color or cement pages in one book. It is nice but I like the variety of color on my pages...and I just hate to spend the extra money first on the page to fit in my book then the paper to wall paper it then the protector. I love CM covers but it is the inside I have a problem with...I guess this is why we have so many choices!
I also did the same thing as Cyndi with one of my CM books I used it as side loading. It works for that one album but would have problems if it were the ones the kids like to look at all the time...

I'm also a "top-loader." :D I like the Dalee albums too but can't find them around here. I pick them up when I go to Texas. I have also discovered Mrs. Grossman's and like them.

Cindy, how nice to "see" you! I have sort of grown out of pins & into scrapbboking!

I use Pioneer top loading albums. Your question had me thinking of when I first got into scrapbooking two years ago. I attended a CM (fundraiser) party. I didn't complete the actual page they gave us, but rather I gave it to the young girl with me (long story).

About that time I went to Michael's with a friend & came across the Pioneer albums. Then two LSS opened & one carries Pioneer. I decided at the time to go with 12"x12" albums. The owner of the LSS was nice enough to let me order a whole case (12) of Pioneer albums & I got to select my colors. Since I took all my photos out of their original albums, I am slowly sb photos. I am currently working on several wedding pages, have completed well over two dozen pages & even "met" (over the phone) one groom's second wife!!

And yes I too have sort of put the pins aside for now. Wish I had all that money back.

Anyone need any pins for an upcoming trip. Email me......PLEASE!!!!

But anyway back to the albums. I am currently using a CM book for my Xmas pics as I know exactly the order and wanted a special book for this season.

I went yesterday in search of an album for my sons things. I found Pioneer now makes a cloth covered, post bound, album with a covered spine. My biggest complaint was the way the spine looked when you added pages. So I am giving this one a shot. I will let you all know how it works for me.

I have marked down the other types and will keep them in mind for my next purchase.

Oh by the way.....I bought my CM album on ebay, has anyone else done this. Not a good way to get your regular ones, as shipping makes them the same as buying from your consultant, but I wanted last years xmas album so it was the only way I could get it.

I must be a misfit in that I use 3 ring albums for mine- I usually 'book in 8.5 x11 but did my DL/DCA books 12x 12 (I had recieved the sandylion post bound Mickey book for christmas- outgrew it quick and have 3 ring 12x12 for the other 2)

Post bound really tried my patience... I much prefer just opening the rings :)

I also do alot of 'bookin ( just finished 4 for 01, 1 for 02, 2 for 03- not counting my 2 Bitty books (8.5 x 5) 3 DL books and 1 Disney in Black and White book over 50 total) and from what Ive seen its cheaper this way :)

As for the pins I do both- Heck Ive even scrapbooked some of my pins :) Now if ya'll are lookin to donate some pins to a good cause (me) Id be of interest :)

my hubby is Anaheim as I type this, I told him if he brings home any pins I shall not let him in the house. He claims that is my hobby, but oh boy does he tell a fib.....lol!

Will trade pins for CM products.....anyone interested??? I not kidding either....:D

but DL has some awesome pins.... :)

I dont have CM but I do live within spittin distance of Pebbles and Roberts (Provo Craft) and Memory Lane Paper Co (not to count some lesser quality scrapbook stores)

They are good quality albums. I must have top loading pages since I don't always scrap in order. You can usually get the refills pretty reasonable as well. I am able to purchase them in bulk and so am able to sell them for 40 cents each which makes them a good value.

I purchased the Sandylion Disney albums to scrap our trip. I am sure I will need at least 2 of them for all the pages I will do. I bought the Mickey one for my son's pages and the Princess one for my dd's pages. They are beautiful, but I haven't really put them to use yet. I hope they work out well.

I must be a misfit in that I use 3 ring albums for mine-

Hey - I'm a misfit, too! The ring binders are all that I use - but I do the 12x12 size! I have over 19 albums completed - all ring binders!

I was a dedicated CM album user for years. However, in the last year, I've switched over to Colorbok's "The Perfect Scrapbook", which is true 12x12 and top loading. It's got 3 posts, a thick fabric cover and a nice spine that slides in (like CM albums).

My reasons for changing:

1-I had staples pull out of my CM pages. :( Yes, they replace them, but if you haven't wallpapered your page, you then have to completely *re-do* the page! Not good.

2-I don't like the white backgrounds so I *was* wallpapering an awful lot. I decided I was being kind of silly to pay for the pages and then wallpaper over them.

3-Don't like having to get them from a consultant. The only one that's not flaked on me is quite a ways away and she's what some call a "CM Nazi". Very pro-company, anti-everything else.

4-The expense. They're wonderful books, but they are costly.

5-They keep discontinuing the colors that I like.

The Perfect Scrapbooks are only $20, come in gorgeous colors (though I'm using strictly licorice for our family books), I can get them at several area LSSes and I can use the coupons these stores issue to get them even more cheaply. And they're excellent quality. I feel lucky to have found something that I'm (finally) happy with. :)

I have to admit I did not read this whole thread, so this may be repeat information- BUT Did you guys know you can use the Pioneer top loading pages in a Creative Memories Album? Pioneer makes top loading page protectors with a key hole shaped hole, they fit perfectly in a CM 12 x12 album! It is the best of both worlds...
