For photo albums, which ones do you prefer for your basic 4x6 prints?
The three ring, (or in some cases 2 ring) binder type?
These are nice because it allows you to add more pages as needed.
Also, you can sometimes find page protectors that are not divided therefore allowing you to display a 5x7, or other memorabilia that does not fit inside those 4x6 pockets.
Some of this type include a blank strip of paper in between the 4x6 pockets for journaling. In some cases I like this, in other cases, I could care less. It looks nice if you journal on every page, but if you don't, it kind of looks odd.
On the downside, The quality of the pages, and protective sheets are not great, and turnning the pages can be sometimes difficult. (the plastic can get caught up on the metal binding)
The bound album
I like these because the page quality is a little better then the binder type, (the ones I have come in contact with anyhow)
Sometimes there is a decorative design on each page. This looks nice if you happen to display a picture that is smaller then 4x6.
Pages turn easily. These books just seem more "put together" IMO.
I like that in most cases there is room for journaling along the edge of the pictures. (We all know that that space is never enough, but it is nice that it is there)
On the downside You can not add more pages to these books. You can not display memorabilia that does not fit with in the 4x6 pockets. Although I did come across a bound book the other day that had a pocket in the back of the book. It had "negatives" printed on it, but this would have been nice to store other memorabilia. I wish all bound albums had these pockets!
Okay, what do you think of these albums?
What type do you use, or prefer?
If you want to mention an album not mentioned here, please go ahead.
