Would MCO be the closest airport to the port, or is there a closer one? I think I would want to be there the night before and stay somewhere close to port? Good plan of action or what? Thank you kindly! :earsgirl: :smooth: :jester:

there are airports in Melbourne & Daytona. But both are small and don't have much scheduled service (occasionally they will surprise you and have good fares to where you want to go). MCO is big & therefore the airport of choice. You shouldn't have any trouble getting good fares & flights from the Boston (?) area. Many people swear by coming in the day before (especially if inclement weather is a possiblity) and stay either near the airport or near the port.

MCO would be the best bet to fly to. Then you can decide to stay near the airport or near the port. Many have said they got Priceline airport area hotels for about $35.00 or so. You would need to think about transportation either way.

There is also a nice airport in Sanford. Depending on where you fly in from, they have some good fares and schedules.

You can get a room for the night before either near the airport or near Port Canaveral. We always use Priceline for our room as we really don't care where we stay as long as it is clean and close.

A lot depends on your mode of transportation from the airport to the terminal--DCL transfers service only MCO. Private limos or rental cars are available at all airports.
