Usually when we fly to La we use LAX or San Diego as we have family in both locations. This time we are sneaking in a trip to DL without seeing any family and would like to use another airport besides LAX. So when you fly to DL which airport do use use? I was thinking either OC or long beach, would love to hear suggestions!
Thanks!

We fly into John Wayne in Orange County. Took us maybe 20 minutes to get to our hotel on Harbor last year from the airport. I think it's the closest airport you can get.

Why do you want to "sneak":confused3 does the family wait at the airport all the time?:rotfl: Just kidding, I couldn't resist, just sounds funny that you couldn't or don't want to fly into LAX. I have never flown into or out of any other airport.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

We also fly into John Wayne. We are fairly new to flying but did not have any problem getting around the airport.

LAX sounded way to scary! Plus we have arrived via Amtrak at Union Station. Los Angeles was not our cup of tea so we will stick with the smaller airport.

No the family doesn't wait at the airport seaching for family sneaking into town! I was meaning that we always fly into LAX and would like to try another airport closer to DL.

I've flown into both SNA (orange County) and Long Beach. Both are great, small airports and just about the same distance to DLR. I found that SNA has greater transportation options to the parks, and the cab fare is a couple dollars cheaper.

We fly on Jet Blue into Long Beach and love it! Cap fare is $35 to the DLR and it takes about 20 minutes. The airport is so small and convienient!

long beach it is way cheaper to fly into from utah. Im going to try burbank in march I hope it is not too far away.

Hi everyone,
I always fly into Long Beach on Jet Blue. Just 20 Min and not al long time in baggage or to get a rental and fling back out of Long Beach is alot easer too than a lage airport like LAX.
:thumbsup2

We usually fly into LAX because it was cheaper...however, I just booked a trip for April and SNA was the same price, so we're giving that a try. Anyone know about how much cab fare is from SNA to DL?

The two times I've taken a plane I went with Jet Blue and flew into the Long Beach airport. It's small and easy to navigate. The drive to the hotel wasn't too long.

Another vote for SNA (Orange County). It is close, small, and easy to get around. Sorry, I can't help with cab fare as we always get a car.

I just booked our flght for SNA (orange county) It will be exciting flying into a different airport than LAX!

We were at DLR in early December, and if I recall correctly, cab fare was around $34 or so. SuperShuttle is $10/person, but there is a coupon on www.anaheimoc.org for $2 off per person each way...$4 round trip. We are flying into/outof LAX. Couldn't find a decent flight, even though there was a DING! today. Didn't want to sit in PHX for 2 hours and the nonstop out of LAX gets us home around noon.

we are starting to plan out first ever trip to CA for my fiance and I. We are staying on site using our DVC club pts heres the scenerio were in, LAX seems like to only airport offering a straight shot from JFK, would you say its better go non stop to LAX or have a lay over for an hour or so and fly into LGB (LONGBEACH) OR SNA (JOHN WAYNE)? PS i would rather sit in an airport for a lay over than traffic any day of the week. PLEASE any advice would be greatly apreciated!!!!:cool1:

We use either LGB or SNA. I used to fly into LGB as a little girl so I always loved that airport!:goodvibes

We flew to John Wayne in Sept. from Utah and are flying into Burbank this time in March - mostly because the flight was about $100 dollars cheaper per person. It saved us $600. Very worth it because we were renting a car either way. Now we can afford more souvies!!:goodvibes
John Wayne was nice and small and easy to navigate. I think Burbank is the same way. Haven't flown to Long Beach, may try that next time.

I have normally flown into SNA, but this time will be using LGB instead. I couldn't argue with $208 round trip from Washington DC! :thumbsup2

SNA is closer, but I think usually LGB ends up being less expensive. Either way, both are great, small airports. [And I prefer both of them to LAX.]

Hope this helps! :goodvibes
