Which ADR would you pay OOP for?

On our 14 night stay, we have 15 table services worth of dining. SO, we need to pay out of pocket somewhere. Where would be the best choice $$$ wise?

Here's the catch - our reservation is split into 2 separate weeks- the first Sun to Sun (7 nights) is w/ mom and then the second Sun - Sun (7 nights) is w/ DH. We can only use the first 7 nights credits until Sunday night midnight, but we get seven new credits per person that Sunday morning (when we re-check in). Confused? :rotfl2: The kicker is that I've been on a million calls to SSR and they will NOT just combine and give me 14 TS credits to use for the 14 nights LOL... which would make life MUCH easier. :headache: Oh and if I pay OOP that FIRST five days (Sun- Thurs) it has to be one person per meal because I'm not going to have my mom cut things out - I want to be the one doing that.

Ok, so here's what we have - all are dinners for 2 (and kids, but we have them worked out since one eats for free!) except for H&V lunch:

Sun - check in day - dine at Boma (1TS)
Mon - LeCellier (1TS)
Tues - Turf Club (1TS)
Wed - Kona Cafe (1TS)
Thurs -Cape May Cafe (1TS)
Fri - none
Sat - Hoop de Doo Review (2TS)

(second week begins - I can use my remaining credits from week 1 until Sun at midnight and I get 7 new credits per person from Week 1 which is beginning)

Sun -Whispering Canyon (1TS)
Mon - LeCellier (1TS)
Tues - Hollywood & Vine lunch (1TS)
Wed - 1900 Park Fare (although I think it's at the GF Cafe now) (1TS)
Thurs - Cap'n Jacks (1TS)
Fri - Ohanas (1TS)
Sat - Narcoossees anniversary dinner :goodvibes (2TS)
Sun - fly home

Help. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. I know Narcoosees would not be the place to pay OOP, but from there I'm stumped. All I know is that I am given 14 TS credits - 7 TS credits each week: Sun to Sun. I've considered switching out Narcoossees for a 1 TS credit dinner which would make everything magically work, but it's our anniversary! Cutting out Hoop de Doo and replacing it with a 1TS place would work too... but we've never done it... is it really worth it?

If you've made it to the end and are going to give this a shot, bless your heart!!!! :surfweb:

Well obviously you want to pay OOP for the cheapest one!:lmao: Is there any chance that you could just pay OOP for an extra entree at two of your restaurant choices? And split the appetizer and dessert? Or split the entree and just add a dinner salad or something? I would be studying the menus for that type of strategy first...

Whispering Canyon. We're paying out of pocket for this because we can get the (breakfast) unending skillet for $11 per person. That's pretty cheap, Disney-wise.

I agree with this. We also have one more TS ADR than we have credits, and we chose to pay OOP for a WCC breakfast. It seemed to be the cheapest out of all of our choices.

It's too bad ours is dinner... breakfast is SO much cheaper... I think it's $22.99 for the dinner skillet.

I like the idea of ordering at an a la carte place... I think I can get something on the cheaper side at the Turf Club. But that means I need to cut out one more meal from that first week. Hmmm.....

If I take 2 TS credits from week 2- I was thinking about the Hollywood and Vine. Does anyone know if DH and I can accompany the kids but not eat? The girls love the dancing with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pal, JoJo & the Little Einsteins and they like the offerings at the buffet (mac n cheese, etc.) , but DH and I would just as soon skip that buffet for us. If we could do that, we'd save 2 credits but I don't know if they'd let us take a table of 4 and have only 2 kids eating... KWIM?

I would think that Boma dinner would be the cheapest. There's no characters or 'entertainment' that you are paying for. I believe H & V lunch is more expensive than Boma for dinner.....Because at H & V you're also paying a little extra for the character meal. Does that make sense?

I know I was pricing meals last week for our upcoming trip and this is what I found.

So, I'd pay for Boma or O'Hana's OOP.

H&V- $24.99
Boma, 'Ohanas, Cape May- $25.99
1900PF- $28.99

So H&V would be the cheapest buffet to OoP. It makes more sense to do OoP for a buffet. However if you wanted to share a meal at a a la carte place it would make sense to do it that way.

We are over 4 TS credits for our trip. However DH and I will share our meal at 2 places. The portions w/ the Apps and dessert are more than we can eat so it's a good way to experience things and not use 2 TS.
Hope this helps!

Is your mom really looking forward to HDDR? If not, I'd drop that one in favor of a 1 TS restaurant. It's fun, but not worth having to share or skip a meal for. I'm sure you can find a replacement everyone will enjoy. You can try HDDR on your next visit.

yeah, I've been thinking a lot about doing this. Though getting an ADR for a good place this late in the game may be very hard!

I don't know about you but we have been here 3 days and are already stuffed to the gills. I have a feeling that unless you are really big eaters you won't be able to eat it all.. so don't worry about it yet, as you may decide it will be better for everyone to share a meal here and there.

BTW NOBODY has given us any trouble about sharing. It's just too much food otherwise. We just shared one meal at Olivia's for lunch between of us-- ds had a shake as beverage, I had the crab cakes app as my meal and ds and dh shared a grouper sandwich. We split the yummy key lime pie. It was just right for all of us and now we have room for Ohana's for dinner :).
