Which of the following would be your choices?? If neither, please leave a suggestion!

We are a non-seafood group on the DxDP! :)

I voted for 3: HDDR, CG and 'Ohana. I like Brown Derby, but would put it behind the other 3. We haven't yet tried The Wave or Yachtsman...we hope to some day. I picked these 3 because to me they provide the most uniquely "Disney" experiences. There are different reasons we choose certain places to dine in WDW. Comparing HDDR, CG and 'Ohana is like comparing grapes to pineapples to bananas. They are very different from each other, but each provides a very special overall dining experience in our opinion.

Your twins are ADORABLE!

I've only been to The Wave out of those, just a few days ago actually! :thumbsup2 Besides the atmosphere being gorgeous beyond belief, the food was AMAZING! Everyone in our party of five LOVED their meal and dessert and drinks!

Been to all of them, and the two that I didn't vote for are HDDR and The Wave. HDDR was a very funny show, but it's not the most interesting food (although it was very tasty, and I think doing it at least once is worth it). The Wave disappointed us last time - I received a bad piece of fish and couldn't really eat it.

Now for the other four:

-Ohana is a fun place to dine, and the food is very tasty. I enjoyed all of the meats, which have a nice oak-grilled flavor.
-Brown Derby is my favorite restaurant in DHS. The cobb salad is delicious and filling enough to be an entree.
-California Grill is my second favorite signature (behind Artist Point). Aside from the pretty view of MK and the lagoon, I've had some great dishes here, including sushi.
-My last meal at Yachtsman had some highs and lows, but the bread, appetizers and my dessert were all amazing. I chose my entree badly, but I definitely want to go back because most of the food was so good.

In terms of priority, I would definitely say California Grill, Ohana, and Yachtsman are highly recommended. For the fourth, HDDR or Brown Derby. Even The Wave is a pretty good option, although I'm not in a rush to return. Overall you have some good places to choose from.

They're all good, my top choice would be CA Grill though!

where is the other??
I haven't eaten at any of them but I'll check on wishing

1st - your twins are soooo cute :goodvibes

We love:
Yachtsman - best steaks, nice and quiet, your little ones may sleep through your dinner.

O'Hana - best character breakfast. We love Lilo & Stitch and the fresh fruit is wonderful in the morning. Your little ones will love the atmosphere.

HDD - a must do every time we go to WDW. I would do the 5 PM show.
Call ahead (48 hours) for any type of food for your little ones.

Thank you!! :goodvibes I think they're pretty gosh darn cute myself :D

We have 4 dinner slots -- and I am far too indecisive :( I have my ADR's but I just don't feel settled! HDDR seems like SO much fun, and could be a nice break from "special" food, if you kwim.

The photos of The Wave are what initially caught my attention, and then I heard good things about it, thanks for your input!

Only voted for two, 'Ohana and Yachtsman.

Thank you so much for the breakdown! My hesitation with CF is that I don't like seafood - so I know I would be getting the filet. Now I know I can get a better steak (or I've been told) at the Yachtsman, but I don't know that I want to give up the CG "experience" and the view! But, I don't want to book two steak meals in 4 days, I feel like that's going to be overkill! What was the downfall with the Yachtsman when you went?

Thanks!

Ohana, YM, and CG are all wonderful!!

thank you!

I've only been to 'Ohana and Cal Grill on your list and love them both.

Thank you very much!! I should put up a new photo (I love to leave baby photobombs wherever I go ;) )

These choices are all for dinner, so I'm a little concerned that O'Hana might be too much? And I've been reading more than a few negative reviews about it lately - but I already booked my ADR and am torn about canceling it!

HDD looks like SO much fun! I'm very seriously thinking about canceling one of my more uppity ADR's in lieu of a fun let loose night. Thanks for your input!

At Yachtsman, I ordered the porterhouse as my entree, which is basically half strip steak, half filet, all on the bone. Since I don't like fatty meat, this entree wasn't something that I was likely to enjoy. I can't fault Yachtsman for that, since I could have easily gone with the filet instead (next time maybe). My mom's entree (the deconstructed beef wellington) was disappointing, because the menu completely omitted one of the most prominent components on the plate (chicken liver). In addition, two of the three desserts we tried were very spicy (a bit too much for dessert IMO), but the third dessert was amazing.

I don't think 2 steak dinners would be overkill, but it's a tough call to make. The overall experience at California Grill can really be special, but I've heard mixed reviews about their filet. Yachtsman has good food overall (especially if you prefer steak over seafood), but there's not really an experience - it's just a nice meal.

If I had to choose, I'd pick California Grill, but both of them are very good :goodvibes

I've been to all of those and the only ones I really like are 'Ohana and California Grill. Yachtsman is OK, but I much prefer the char crusted steak over at Flying Fish over any steak I've had at Yachtsman. If I go to Yachtsman I usually get the lamb now. We were not fans of the Wave or Brown Derby (except cobb salad). HDDR is cute, but very corny. If you've never been I'd go to it.

With all due resepct........It seems odd to ask for 4 out of 6 rest. with so many other great and better then the ones listed available in WDW.

So I repectfully did not vote

AKK

I would have to agree. Most of the choices you have there are not very good. HDDR is pretty good and is a lot of fun, but after that we are not impressed with any of your other choices.

I'm sorry it seems odd? These are the restaurants that my group has come to agree upon. And Better than California Grill? Interesting. Because everything I've read has basically said that is the best.

Instead of just criticizing, you could offer suggestions? Otherwise, what's the point of commenting at all? I don't know that I really needed to know you didn't vote - I wouldn't have known the difference.

Who exactly is in your group? Are you planning for the little ones to be at every meal (including signatures)? Are there any foods that your group does not want to eat? It's hard to give suggestions without a little extra information.

Also, we find that Cali. Grill is on that overrated list. The sushi is alright and the view of MK/Wishes is great, but we have never been overly fond of the rest of the menu.

The group will consist of myself and my husband, my mother, and my two 15 month olds. No one in my group enjoys seafood except for my husband, and he only likes shrimp and swordfish. We're very much a meat and potatoes kind of group, but I am interested in branching out -- my mother, however is the opposite of culinarily adventurous - so we need places that offer "normal" food as well as a few things I wouldn't make at home.

The fact that none of us are fond of seafood is the reason why I'm on the edge with CA Grill. Everyone raves about the experience, but our menu options will be extremely limited.

Are you interested in buffets/character meals or not so much? I know some with little ones tend to dislike buffets since there is a lot of up and down for the parents, but if your mother is also there it may not be an issue.

We are doing two breakfast buffets, but I tend to shy away from dinner buffets since it seems to be a resounding opinion that the quality is not great. The only buffet I had considered was Boma, but my mother would probably refuse to eat anything lol
