I am going for a quick trip in Jan since we are visiting family and decided we can only fit in 2 days at WDW. Which parks would you do in the 2 days? Thanks!

For me, I would choose Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Oddly enough Animal Kingdom is normally my second favorite park but HS is about to replace it now that they have Toy Story Land and Galaxy Edge.

Thank you! Those were the two I was leaning towards!!

Tough question, my answer all 4. I'd get a park hopper. If I had to miss two, ummmmm. I guess I'd skip MK (I know a sin on these boards but actually my least favorite park) and maybe HS? No wait, maybe AK. No wait, I'm hopping since I can't make up my mind.

Seriously, it depends on your goals and what your favorite parks are. Mine are Epcot, ain't skipping it for nothing. Then maybe HS, then AK, then MK. But I do love AK and can't imagine not going to at least ride Safari and walk around the trails and eat at Nomad Lounge. I'm not a big ride person so the rides at Pandora and Star Wars aren't a big deal.

What’s your goals when you go to the parks- maximum ride time, people watching, eating and drinking? MK and HS would have the best rides. Epcot would have the Festival of the Arts going on at that time and the most food choices.

Hmm….the difference between base and park hopper is minimal. Would it be too much going back and forth? It’s a quick trip. MK is my favorite park and I don’t think half day is enough. If I do park hoppers, which parks should I do at night? Decisions decisions lol

Personally, I would not hop. Lots of time wasted in transportation. If you decide to park-hop, you have to consider park hours. MK deserves a whole day for sure, and it usually stays open latest. AK closes pretty early, so should be your "morning" park if you are hopping.

Ok thank you! We will be driving, does that make a difference?

I've only not hopped once in over 38 years of going so I might be a little biased. I don't get the whole it takes up too much time issue. Might be because I'm not rushing around trying to get everything done in one trip, it's impossible so I just don't even try.

I'm not a MK person so spending all day there is not something I would do. You can't hop to AK at night, they close down pretty early so it is a better morning park. It's easy enough to hop between Epcot and HS, you can either boat or walk. We walk since it takes a little less time. I do like MK at night, Main Street is pretty. I've been known to hop to 3 parks in a day, yes even with the 2 pm hopping rule they have now. I wasn't rushed in any of them, but again, I don't try to do everything. Are you going to be going back any time soonish? If so, this could a good time to take it slow and just enjoy the details and atmosphere of the place and not try to ride all the rides, just doing the ones that you enjoy the most. If not, I'm guessing you are going to spend all day at least one day at MK. If you get hoppers, then maybe hop between Epcot and HS. That would tear me up though because I do love AK. So maybe AK in the morning, hop over to either HS or Epcot after 2 and then decide later on if you even want to hop over to the other park. It depends on the hours the parks are open.

We are also park hoppers.

Honestly, I would do MK in the morning/midday, then ride the monorail to Epcot and finish there. Then spend the other day at HS or AK.

So we decided to do 2 day park hoppers and do a little at each park and focus on the most important things we want to see/ride:

Day 1: AK morning(safari, FOP) until 2pm, hop to MK by car (7DMT, pirates, eat dinner at the castle, fireworks)
Day 2: HS in the morning (Star Wars, Toy Story, lunch at Sci Fi) until 2pm, hop to Epcot by skyliner or walk (Soarin, dinner at Via Napoli).

Does this plan sound doable? Any feedback? Thank you so much!

I'll be doing something similar next weekend, I can report back how it works. This will be our shortest trip--just a quick weekend and a smidge of Monday. in the past we've been down for 7-10 days, But, since it's just me and my sweetie this time, I'm hoping we can be efficient. We have hoppers too, so I'm thinking of splitting MK and Epcot. Epcot seems to be under so much construction right now, I'd really be fine with hopping later in the day and just getting to Soarin, maybe Test Track, then seeing how long the wait is at Remy and doing some food and wine festival. I don't think there's anything new at MK since our last visit, so we can just get there at rope drop for all our favorites. I'm thinking we might need a lot of time at HS with all the new-to-us Star Wars and other rides. And, since we drive to the airport Monday afternoon, I don't think we'll have time to hop with the new 2pm rule, so maybe we'll just get all we can in at AK before we take off. Whirlwind visit for sure!

Sounds like a plan but I'd skip the sky liner unless it's just a must do. It takes a long time even if there are no lines. You would actually get there faster taking the boat and heaven knows it's slow. We always walk.

ok good to know, thank you!! How long is the walk about? And is it ok to leave the car at HS and then after Epcot go back?
