Day 7 Wednesday 18h July ‘07
Me – Disney fanatic - I stomped through Disneyland Paris in 1994, since why come to a theme park when you’re in Paris, yes really! Favourite PM
Diane (DP) – Long suffering Disney widow, buts loves it all anyway. Favourite BTM
Morgan (DD9) – 9 year old Disney fan. Favourites now RnR, BTM, Pirates of the Caribbean
Jack (DS) – 7 year old Disney, Star Wars fan. Favourites now BTM and Star Tours Autopia
Robyn (DD5) – 5 year old Disney fan. Loves parades and Casey Jr
Tom - TomTom sat nav that will get a full workout this trip, but day off today
We are all up by 7am and after showers we collect breakfast.
We make it to the park by 8.30hrs so have an early start due to EMH.
Disney hotel guests are directed to a separate entrance at the right hand side.
Already there is a healthy gathering of guests queuing up…
they are 1 ½ hours early.
We make full of advantage of EMH and quickly get Dumbo, Teacups, Peter Pan, Carosel and Pinocchio completed in under an hour.
DS has a scare… well actually mum and dad really, on the carousel. When we head on to this ride the plan is that I’ll have DD and DS with me. Anyway DS goes one way while DD goes the other way. DS tried to get off but loses his footing and falls. Not enough to really hurt himself, but enough for a fright.
I go off with him just before the ride starts.
Next we head to Discoveryland. Buzz, Orbitron and Space Mountain are open. The queues are too long for us since we are heading over to WDS for Crush
Thankfully we don’t have to go through baggage security as by now there is an exceptionally healthy crowd :yikes
DD, DS and me cut through the shops to try to get ahead of the waiting crowd in Studio 1. DP and DD head over to stroller rental with DD’s Dream AP
So 9.45hrs and we are waiting for the opening. The crush we were in was good practice for going on… Crush
This part was not fun. Having two children with you made it very hard as I tried to keep our ground, not run over anyone in front of us and not lose hands with DD and DS.
So now we are in the queue and nothing. 40 minutes later and the queue has still not moved.
By this time other DD has done magic Carpets, met Ratatouille and watched the Good Morning parade.
After a couple of txts; but with some protest, we decide to leave Crush till they fix what is wrong
We thought about Lilo and Stitch catch a wave party, but Wednesday’s it is not on.
So we skip into Cinemagique. This is another first as I’ve never managed to persuade everyone else that it will be good. We all enjoy it and definitely an attraction we’ll do again
Remie and Mickey are at their respective photo locations. So we catch them both before heading back to the ranch for lunch.
We head over to Val d’Europe to replenish supplies and then lazy around DCR until tea-time
About 6pm we head back to the parks.
First stop is a FP for Buzz and then DP, DD and DS all jump on Star Tours as it is only a 10 minute weight. DD decides she is my model for the night while we wait.
At about 18.50hrs we head over to Bella Notte for the 19.15hrs parade. We get a decent spot and the troops take up their positions.
The parade is brilliant. Great to see the new floats, although sadly the video tape runs out halfway through the parade.
We have a bit of time to kill before Buzz FP at 20.10hrs so we grab an icicle and people watch in Discoveryland.
The troops have a bit of a melt down over who is going in what car
but the suggestion of leaving without going on Buzz soon has everyone seeing sense.
I think I score (literally) by having the best steerer in Morgan. Once again I’m 1st with 53,900. No idea how I got that score so the concept of a 6 figure score is a dream to far
DP wants to make a start to buying presents to take home to the family so we head off to the Village.
DD; who has an eye for a bargain… Read will spend hours in H&M spending £15 birthday money to get the most bang for her buck. Spots a RnR t-shirt at €15 with a 40% off ticket. It goes through at €5 before AP discount. A definite bargain at €4. She is well pleased that only £2.80 of her funds has been spent. This could be a long night.
While here we meet up with DS’s best pal who is staying at the Hotel New York. Funny thing is they have 3 boys who are in each of the troops classes at school. Quite a few photos get taken before they head back to their hotel to relax.
Panormagique is working tonight but as it is 21.30hrs we head back to Hotel New York to pick up the car.
