Whew, told the kids....

that DH and I are going on vacation without them.....and it went pretty well. We were so worried that there were going to be "big tears" and lots of fussing when our kiddos found out we were going to Disney without them.

We sat them down and asked them if they knew what special day was in September? (our anniversary) Of course they were all guessing weird things...far from our anniversary. We tell them, it is our anniversary and that we have been married for 13 years and that it is a special day and Mommy and Daddy want to celebrate this year by spending a few nights away by ourselves. We tell them that we decided to go to Orlando and that we will only be gone for
4 nights..ya-da, ya-da, ya-da.... The only thing they seemed concerned about was who was going to be watching them, and that we would bring them back a souvenier.

So, now we can really get excited and enjoy ourselves!

Send them a postcard too - one of the digital ones, my parents did and it made me feel loved =) Of course, I was in college at the time, but I was still jealous!!!
