I had to drag my butt out of bed this morning to get on the phone at 7am to make my reservation for the Imagineer Lunch at the Brown Derby for October 22nd (60 days out) -- I honestly don't remember the last time I was conscious at 7am! :rotfl: I got on the phone at 6:55am and dialed in, then kept hitting re-dial and a CM answered at 7am on the dot. Even still, she said there were only 2 spots left, but I snagged one!

I did this last year and I loved it. Who wouldn't want to eat at the Brown Derby while chatting with an honest to goodness Imagineer for 2 hours? I highly recommend this experience, especially for folks like us here, it's worth every penny ($61 before tax and tip)

I was going to call in a voice mail review about my experience last year, but I guess I'll wait and do a more recent one after I go this year, but if anyone is interested and has anyone questions, I'd be happy to fill you in!

Wow - well done :thumbsup2 It sounds a fantastic experiance so cant wait to hear all about it :goodvibes

We are going as well during our Sept 20-28 trip.

Do they let you record the questions and answers?

Oh! You'll love it. Are you doing the lunch or the dinner?
Is your whole family going? Here's a tip.....Go hungry!!!!
You get soup, then an indiviual sized Cobb salad (YUM!)
a big entree and dessert.

I didn't ask, but I didn't see anyone else recording or anything. I would think they probably wouldn't let you though. It's not like a talk or a lecture. It's pretty informal, the Imagineer has lunch with you, tells you about what he does for Disney and then we asked him questions and he asked us questions and we all just talked about Disney, they might tell you no, just in consideration of the other guests who might not want to be recorded. Can't hurt to ask though, they can't hit ya! :teeth:

Hi this sounds fantastic, hope you have a great time :thumbsup2

Is it like a one on one or are there other people seeming the same Imagineer while you are? I thought I read somewhere you had to pay for their meal (the Imagineer) or is that included in the $61+?

Thanks.

We are doing the lunch, and it's just me and my wife Kim.

Thanks for the tips. :thumbsup2

It is a small group for lunch, I think the maximum is 10 people, dinner is at the Wilderness Lodge and is a larger group, I think 35 people. I've never done the dinner, it is $110.

Our Imagineer didn't pass the hat after lunch, :rotfl: but he didn't get a bill either, so I think Disney probably picks up their tab.

How fun! I definitely want to do this on my next trip. Have a great time and try to pry some imagineering secrets out of them.

We got ours for October 6th. I called in the middle of the afternoon on the second day that I was able to call. They still had 4 spots left after I booked so I guess that day wasn't as popular :confused3

It will be my fiance and I and we are both very excited about it :goodvibes

I have ADRs for the lunch on Friday, October 10th. Sounds like it will be a very interesting experience, based on other dis'ers online reviews of the luncheon. I hope I get someone either from Animation or Ride design. Depending on who the Imagineer is, I may even pose Pete's question to them in regards to all the outsourcing, "what is disney good at these days?"

I will also be going on the 7 hour Backstage magic tour on my trip this year on October 8th.
